Hello,
I'd like to make a fairly simple mod that makes family ties and family reputation is more important. I'm looking for a link to any good guides or posts explaining how to do it, or maybe some advice or suggestions directly in this thread.
So basically I'd like to have opinion modifiers similar to "is my child", but in more detail. A few examples:
- "is my bastard child"
- "is my mother/father"
- "is my blood relative"
On top of that - and this is where it might get messy/impossible - I'd like to be able to add opinion modifiers based on opinions of relatives. In other words, what a character's parents thought of somebody directly influences what the character thinks of them too.
The pseudo-code/algorithm would be something like this:
If (character1.father had-a-strong-opinion of character2)
then (character1.opinion-of-other-character2 += (character1.father.opinion-of-character2 * 0.5))
The effect this would have is that characters would "inherit" a portion of their father's opinion of another character. This would chain down the line of descendants, so that, for example, a son would inherit 50% of the opinion of his father, and the son's son (the 'fathers' grandson) would inherit 25% (.5 * .5).
This would all go under an opinion modifier called "historical relations" or something.
I can see after writing it all down it's probably too complicated and messy for a mod.
