Ah, yes. I really want to get my keys back so that I can go home and try some MP games. Any european player (or anyone who could play at roughly the same times as a European, for that matter), feel free to contact me to try some MP games!
Feel free to post your profile in our MP game thread (started by lamprey). We already have euros in our group. Strategist is from netherland. Aly is going to sub for Austria until July and he's in Switzerland. DR is ruling USA with me and he's in Europe too.

You're absolutely correct, Blitz. Look at me in our MY game. You call me aggressive, you should see the way Tom bullied me around! But think about it this way--in a SP game, I would do exactly what I'm doing now, but I wouldn't have anyone to tell me not to go bavck to war with China, lest I find myself in a war with them, too. It really makes you appreciate competiton, and teaches you how to call a bluff here and there.
Let's just put it this way, if Tom behaves that way with pause, it's simple, we won't play with him.

I guess you can learn how our current group works. I think it's kinda interesting that 4 of us have been playing together for a while so we kinda know what to expect. Having you guys join us make diplomacy a lot more touche as we don't know what to expect. I find it interesting that our current game has the mentality of trust no one when I start to talk with people and figure out what kind of player they are. Reminds me of X-files. I think as we get more comfortable with each other, people are more willing to deal together so to speak, such as piling on, etc.

I do play alot of MP. Only play SP at work

and when i cant get a MP game of Vicky going.
I think you gave some of the most sound advice in this thread. Some stuff i didnt think of(not that hard to do) I usually love to chime in on threads like this but you covered most anything that i could think of plus a few things that i hadnt considered.
Your MP group i am eyeing with much delight. You guys seem to be off to a great start. Specially Memnon. I think your ability to play through longer periods of gametime then average MP games is due to the fact that you all nailed down some solid rules before hand. This makes the experience so much more enjoyable. It doesnt hurt to have a great group of people participating as the game currently does.
*claps hands together, rubs them vigorously, and powers up the laptop with Vicky on it*
Thank god i have an office, with a door that i can close!
We have the advantage of playing together either with or against each for a few years so we learned what works and what not I suppose.
I also don't deserve all the credit. Deploying reserves in enemy territory is something Spex came up and surprised us. Innovation happens quick in MP in my opinion as you have different people thinking differently and it's brutally efficient. Shape up or die...so...you have a lot of motivation
Mp will be successful if everyone or at least almost everyone is having a lot of fun. If majority aren't having fun, MP will not be successful. To that end, we think respect is essential, respect for each other and don't do things that ruin it. If you're a large nation, deal with it. That's how I learned ledger in order to avoid pause often in MP. You like to chat a lot, fine, but don't pause and ruin other's fun.
Another thing is MP give good wars so to that end, it's best if everyone observe the rule of playing for his/her country's best interest as well as keeping balance of power in mind. This way, it's easy to have fun, bloody, but not lopsided wars
But overall, biggest joy/problem in MP is diplomacy. Tech trading is great, but can you trust that player? If everyone plays with balance in power in mind, he can turn on you once you become powerful, etc. Ah, lots of joy and keep you on your toes, unlike SP games
