We are about to start our first multiplayer game with mostly people completely new to the game, with couple more experienced players. Great Britain and Germany are the most experienced ones (which isn't saying much
) and novices will be play France-USA, Japan and Soviet Union. As multiplayer game is quite a investment in time and this is first one for all of us, we don't want to run to some game breaking imbalance issue down the road. Therefore I have been looking over some threads in the multiplayer section for good house rules to reduce this risk.
At the moment we are planning to make it just general "don't abuse the game" rule with the war starting with Danzig event and Japan allowed to join with the event in '41. Barbarossa also allowed in '41 and if Germany doesn't DOW on Soviets, then Soviets allowed to DOW in '42.
1) Any other good general rules we should look in to ?
2) Seems like reserve building is limited in most games. Why is this ? Some balance issue ?
3) Upgrades. These too seem to be limited in some games. What is the rationale behind this ?
Anyway, all answers, thoughts and rambles are much appreciated!
