Admiral duplicate bug(affect election?)

Hi,

I just encountered the bug where when you split the fleet with an admiral in it, it will cause the admiral to duplicate into 2 stack. The problem is when you play as a martial empire, this admiral will NO LONGER be in the list of election candidates. I levelled my admiral to 5 stars just to prepared for his ascension to leader, but when my leader finally died, I only got a 1 star candidate to pick from. :'(

I am pretty sure there is no benefit from having a high Skill Ruler. And the Ruler traits are seperate from the Leader traits (except maybe Resilient).
Indeed I usually tend to pick the youngest guy I can find for my Oligarchic/Democratic Ruler. Avoids having a early re-election.

Regarding the duplication bug:
Yes, that one is a oldie. I am not sure how I used to fix it, but possibilities are:
Assign them to either fleet in turn.
Save, Quit Game, Load.
Assign another Admiral to either Fleet in turn.

Adding note:
  • This bug is still alive as of the latest patch.
  • I currently have 4 fleets with the same admiral (lvl5 aggressive-galespeed-logistician so... not complaining).
  • I can also replicate the duplication by assigning an admiral already attached to Fleet A (which is operating in a hostile system) to Fleet B. Now both fleets have the same admiral.
  • I can also replicate it via army generals.
