Administrative Republic

Hi All,

I recently changed my form of government to 'Administrative Republic'. Great now I won't worry about having children. However, I have a problem with my vassals. The Administrative Republic provide an option to annex vassals peacefully. As this required a Royal Marriage.

I tried to change to a 'Republican Dictatorship' but still it was obviously not possible to arrange for a Royal Marriage.

Do you know how to annex vassals peacefully with either of the two forms of government? Preferably I would like to keep the Administrative Republic.

To my knowledge, it's offering vassalisation (asking a free country to become your vassal through diplomacy, not force) rather than annexing a vassal (incorporating a state which is already your vassal, into your country) that requires a royal marriage.

From my experience, demanding a vassal's annexation only requires that they actually are your vassal, that they are of the same religious group (or religion?), and that you have relations of at least 190.

That being said: there is no way for a republican country (or constitutional monarchy, from memory) to demand the vassalisation of another country, because it is impossible to get a royal marriage. Your only option is to forcibly subjugate them.

A constitutional monarchy is a normal monarchy and should be able to inherent.

What about Noble Republic, though? They can do royal marriages AND vote their leaders.

They can diplo-vassalize, but not inherit nor have PUs. They simply don't have heir or dynasties, so inheritance makes no sense.

Um I think you have missed some point here, you do NOT need a marriage to diplo-annex someone, you never needed that. Only thing you need a RM for is diplo-vassalizing, not annexing, so you can still diplo-annex your vassals on the same conditions as everyone else.

Yeah, you do not need a royal marriage to diplo-annex someone, I've diplo-annexed the Papal States before, which obviously is unable to receive RM offers.
