Additional UK province

Been looking up at the provinces of the UK as a whole. I found one that was reasonably important and isn't included in the game.

Bedfordshire - it was housed Roman market towns (notably Dunstable), which later become a royal burying ground - Queen Eleanor being one such buried there.

Also it was a huge wool producer for the English, and later a straw hat producer (becoming the world leader in straw hats).

Additionally, during the civil war (1600s) it was one of the main opposing powers of the king. The shire reeve (later sheriff) of Bedford itself also held power over Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Essex and London Boroughs north of the river Thames.

I feel it would be a good addition to the game, as a spawning point for the roundhead/cavalier civil war.

I think Warwickshire would be a sensible province to add. It had a large significance in the Wars of the Roses and Shakespeare is from the county. Warwick had (and still has) a mighty castle in a defensive location.

I alo think that "Marshes" is a strange Province that should be broken down.

I can't believe so many people would rather have another province to a region that that is already quite dense, meanwhile we still have Highlands that covers almost half of Scotland, I know that Highlands is poor and has very low population density, but its development is 6 it could be divided to two.

Also only one additional province in Ireland would have more worth (IHMO), heck because islands have strategical priority even the Isle of Man should have higher priority than additional provinces in England.

I would like more same sized provinces than few really dense areas.

I would agree Scotland and Ireland should be prioritized for new provinces as far as British Isles are concerned. England could have couple new provinces squeezed into it but like you said, it's pretty dense.

England was most wealthy country of the entire region due to its location and its proximity to the Continent so it make sense for it to be dense and more developed than Scotland or Ireland. Although... I don't know if Ireland was just as developed as England before its subjugation by latter because I think it started to lag behind since then. I do know for the fact, though, that England was more wealthy than Scotland as the James VI of Scotland will testify to that upon accession to the English throne as James I.

Well, if you spell it correctly ("Marches", referring to it being part of the militarization of the Anglo-Welsh boundary) and know something about English history, it's noticeably less strange.

Ofc it has, its perfect naval base for foreign invaders equal to Bornholm, Malta and Rhodos, it even had a fort, it could have strait to Scotland.

Nor can you apperantly use the search function. Then again I'm not bothering to do so either so I can't really fault you. Well I think it might be isle of wight (or however it's spelled), Something about a french invasion landing there usually comes up.

Myself I don't think england needs more provinces any more than sweden does.

Yeah I seemed to remember that was the one. Not that I could pick either of them out on a map. (Ok I could pick isle of man out becuase it's in ck2).
I think it says a lot about how often we've had this argument when I can speak about what arguments usually come up.

Almost certainly is supposed to mean Jersey and Guernsey, which are both way too small and way too irrelevant to be worth a province compared to countless other places. The Isle of Mann wouldn't be a bad province, but there places with waaay more priority (Highlands, Albania, Madagascar, other places already mentioned). Ireland, and Scotland are who need the love, not England.

Let's hope the Cossacks will add new provinces to Scandinavia, British Isles and Eastern Europe. Although I'm a little concerned - they haven't mentioned new provinces anywhere yet, of all I know.

Only if they are added in the off locations, Scottland and Norway could use some provinces I guess, sweden and england should not get any more.

Well, they should at least fix the awful looks of Österbotten. It's literally impossible to form any nice borders there!
