I have the base CKII in my Steam library. But with the holiday season upon us, it looks like I'll be suggesting the rest of the DLC to my relatives as something to gift.

However, none of them have Steam accounts. So it looks like the DLC will purchased from another digital service (probably Amazon).

Question: Can I add non-Steam DLC content to my Steam CKII basic install? (And if so, how hard it is to do this?)

Yes you can. All of the dlc pretty much everywhere uses the steam version. Other than on gamersgate specifically. You buy the dlcs and then you go to steam and enter the serial numbers under the game tab and then Activate product on Steam option. In the requirements of said dlc it should say if it uses steam or not.

There are only two different versions. Steam and Gamersgate.
Everyone from another platform than these two is a Steam version, just like the box. At least i never heard of the gamersgate version sold via another platform.
