I want to add a new kind of traits. So far, so good, but is it possible to have them in their own "class" like "normal traits" and "hability-traits" (planet_traits) etc.

How do I edit the species_mod_window.gui to show another row of trait classes?

I am not sure this is possible. However, I did something similar using a different approach. I created a topic thread for feedback and eventual posting so check it out if you want an idea of how I accomplished what I did. Check out the section on "Primary" traits. Depending on your needs, you may be able to implement it in a way similar to the way I did. Otherwise... I am not sure if you can.
