Adding Music

HELP! I am going crazy listening to the same pieces over and over and over and . . .

I'm no programmer, but it looks like it can't be too hard to add my own .mp3 files to the game for some variety - has anyone tried this? How would one go about it?

I have included my own music and it works like a charm. What I did was:

1) Copy .mp3 to the Music folder.

2) Edit the text files located there. I think they are named 14.txt 15.txt etc. It appears that the numbers (ie 14 in 14.txt) contain the music that will play during that hundred years (so all the mp3s listed in 14.txt will play during the 1400s, etc). There is also a file named without a number ('scuse me but I'm at work and don't have the actual file names here, it something like music.txt?), but it is the only other .txt file in the Music folder. This latter file contains all the music in the game and appears to also be arranged by century. I simply edited the text files by inserting the names of the .mp3 files.

3) Play and listen!

I don't know if there are any other easier ways and it can take a lot of disk space if you have lots of music you want to include. Anyway, good luck and have fun!

Does anybody konw if you can define new centuries after extending the game using the Unlimted Time patch, or are the music groups hardcoded?

I think someone tried - no music before 1400. 1800-music after 1820...

Hmm... not good. Post-1820 is liable to extend probably only as far as 1950s at most, so we aren't missing a whole lot of music there. But no music pre-1400 will beproblematic for any scenariosbefore the EU period.... At least the AoN folks don't have to worry about this.

edit or adding

So, can I edit music folders, or can I add new musiuc.

Do I have to edit old files to add new music, or can I add new music with new names?

Just copy the desired MP3's top the music folder. Then there are different txt's to be found, labelled 14, 15, 16, 17 (these are the years 1400, 1500, etc). THERE change the lines so it shows YOUR music
