I was more thinking about adding events that gave you lets say, 50d for every city province captured, 15d for colonies and 5d for trading posts for example.
Well, you would have to make a separate event for every province, and even then it would only trigger for the first person who took the province....

But if you add four events for each nation, and make them repeatable(?).

Capitol is captured: 100d

City is captured: 50d

Colony captured: 15d

Trading post captured: 5d

Would this be possible?
I do not believe so. There are, as far as I know, no test conditions that will trigger whenever some capital, some colony, some city, or some trading post is occupied. It would have to refer to a specific province.

And there are, I believe, 963 provinces, and 237 country tags. So if we take away the rebels, pirates, mercenaries, and natives, we end up with 233 tags. 963 X 237 = 228231, so you would need 228,231 events, unless there's some easier way to do this that I'm not seeing.

Oh, wait---you wanted separate events for trading posts, colonies, cities, and capitals, so that would actually be 912,924 events.

I think I will give up. Why does everything need to be hardcoded? There should rather be alot of options before you start the game, f. eks:

Looting bonus: ON/OFF
Fast annexation (in one war): ON/OFF
Atrittion: OFF/LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH

Etc, etc... It would not take Paradox long time to add such options, but it sure takes us long time to modify and make such possible...

As said - it's hardcoded - once you enter a province with an army you get it's annual taxes at once (and the flaming icon goes on, meaning noone gets any taxes until flames go off)

Also, if you cover/besiege a province noone gets any income at all from the province, but once you have taken control of it during the war then you get all the money it produces until peace/return of control.

And giving more would be plain silly, 90% of looting went to officers and soldiers pockets (and from soldiers pockets to camp followers or to a quick desertion home).

LOL! Are we talking about the same game? It's one of the most open and moddable games I have ever ran into...

Game Mechanics and Game Design. They make the game the way they want to. Most games you play have rules. A card game or a board game or a computer game, it's the same...

I have not noticed recieving any extra money from capturing provinces...

The plunder comes from entering - and the extra income from capturing is added to your income. Play a smallish nation and occupy many provinces of a rich nation (or a couple of CoTs), look at your monthly income in the window, make peace for only money, wait for the next month and see how much less money you are making..

It is, but still, I want to be able to edit everything :D

I think you should contact Inferis, I think he's the one making an EU2-clone. (Although 'planning to make' might be a better description)

At least he's working on modding the map, which certainly goes under your claim of 'everything'.

(When will you start asking about how to add fighter-bombers aircraft and wizards with teleportation spells?) ;)

(When will you start asking about how to add fighter-bombers aircraft and wizards with teleportation spells?)

Was thinking of UFOs actually :D

EDIT: Another question that might as well be followed by the answer: "It is probably hardcoded"...

Can you edit the max fortress level? If I for example want the battles to have more impact and the sieges less... Can I make minimal forts the maximum size (and none on certain provinces)?

In Betas the max_fortress_level == tax_rating so by reducing tax of province you reduce how large fortresses can be built there..

There's a tech editor, which gives you control of what tech level you need to gain certain forts (and other things, but you can't remove level 1 forts). The restriction is then made by tech and not by province...
