The auto slider adjustment and auto trade feature in doomsday multiplies the fun factor by 50x and decreases micromanagement by 100x.

Best feature implemented totally. Much better than the intelligence folder or axtra techs. The auto sliders by itself is totally worth it. Man I love this game. It's almost perfect now.

like I said over a year/2 years ago when the game was still in beta? the idea that you can trade yourself everything to everyone will be a pain is the behind.. Though I would never let the ai handle anything let alone such an important factor as trade.. If only they would fix the convoys to what it was in hoi1 or fix the convoy ai in hoi2 once and forall I would be happy - as that unfortualtely its impossible to handle manually in hoi2.

As to P 5 bucks I probably will invest it in EU3 and buy it straight from P to make up them not getting it for DD ;).

It takes years of testing and coding, look how long it took ADG to get World In Flames to be the perfect World War II board game.
World in Flames is far from perfect and their later editions didn't help IMO. It is telling that their attempts to turn it into a computer game have failed so far. That's the great thing about HoI. It's not perfect either but it exists and you can actually play it. That is no mean achievement.

As for boardgames, I recommend Eurofront for a much more elegant and playable system.

Well Warden thats your opinion. I been playing World In Flames for almost 10 years (since 4th Edition) and I think its a fantastic World War II boardgame.

If you've only been playing for 10 years then you probably wouldnt have seen even 5th edition. I think Final Ed was released in 96. I've been playing WIF since '94 (11 years) and EuroFront since 2001 (5 years). Both has pro and cons, my personal pref is EuroFront as it doesnt mess up the rules (or spend precious time) trying to replicate every aspect of the war (naval/air). They really are different monsters however. :D WIF definetly has more similiaritys to HOI than EuroFront does though.

Does this count as a thread hijack :)
