Okay, so I’ve been thinking long and hard about my mod AANWFF, (check signature) and I’m thinking about rewriting a lot of my events for flavour. Let’s take a look at one of the best known events…
The DH way:
GERMANY LEAVES LEAGUE OF NATIONS:
As he had promised, Hitler had plans to make Germany powerful again. It had become apparent by this time that the League of Nations was weak and was limiting Germany's progress. To escape the limitations imposed on Germany by the League, Hitler simply left it, refused to pay reparations, and began building his military back up.
The OAM777 way:
Thursday, 18 May 1933. Herr Hitler’s Threat to Leave League!
Excerpt as quoted from Herr Hitler’s speech as recorded by The Herald. …The national degradation of Germany could not be maintained forever and French colonial troops must be reckoned as part of the French Army under the conditions of Versailles. The sanctions on Germany would lead to the annulment of treaties, the resultant chaos falling upon those who thus attacked a nation which was not harming the world. Germany, if permanently defamed as she is now, could not, in good conscience pay reparations and would find difficulty in continuing to belong to the League of Nations… Aside from roaring applause, the hundreds packed into the Berlin Opera House sat in disciplined silence for Herr Hitler’s 51 minute speech.
The above is a condensation of the full article in Australian newspaper ‘The Herald’ 18 May 1933. “Excerpt as quoted from Herr Hitler’s speech as recorded by The Herald” will probably be removed.

DH:
King George V of the United Kingdom passed away on Tuesday, January 20 1936. King George was an active king on both the political and social-economic fronts. The Irish Free State was set up under his rule (1922) and he played a conciliatory role during the 1926 General Strike. Perhaps the most noteworthy legislation enacted under his reign was the Statute of Westminster (1931) which made it possible for Dominion parliaments to pass their own laws without royal assent from London. The Commonwealth remained linked through common allegiance to the Crown. King George V was succeeded by his son, Edward VIII.
OAM777:
Tuesday, 20 January 1936. KING’S PEACEFUL END AT SANDRINGHAM
Britain mourns the passing of beloved Monarch and Father. In the presence of the Queen and his sons and daughter, King George V died peacefully at 1155PM at the royal seat of Sandringham. He was 70 years of age. The cause of death was heart failure, following an attack of bronchial catarrh, which took a serious turn last Friday. The official bulletin read, ‘Death came peacefully to the King at 1155PM in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of York, the Princess Royal, and the Duke and Duchess of Kent.’
I thought of this for flavour and a more historical feel. What do you, the people think?
