Hi devs,

I think it would be great if the game had more graphic models on the map to make the world map look more alive, such as:
  • Graphic models for holy sites, so we can feel accomplished when we either create them or even desecrate them(holy sites on fire).
  • Graphic models for settlement improvements since this is a civilization builder ;). I am referring to just settlements where you can only build one type of building not cities, this way we can see on the map if the settlement has a farm, mine, slave estate etc.
  • Graphic models moving through Trade Routes. I really like how this happens in EU4 and I understand there are many trade routes in the world, so if performance is an issue, perhaps limited to just the player or the player's capital trade routes. So we can see tradeships and caravans moving around the world like in EU4.

I really think these kinds of models and animations could bring more life to the world of IR.

I agree with all of these and were imagining them as well. I hope someday we will get them. I thing in the history of Paradox grand strategy games Imperator made an unprecedented leap forward in map design allowing us to immerse in the world almost as if we were playing Civilisation. The next logical step is to make the map or now rather the world dynamic as in Civilisation so we can make our mark upon the world. Then we can truly have an immersive civilisation builder and not just a map painter :D

I agree, this is something I loved with Total War Three Kingdoms, though the game itself had some problems for me, it had a fantastic map which was so alive because they put so much effort into it, like farmers working the farm, traders moving about etc.

In Imperator terms, having Holy sites models. farms where farms are buildt, mines where mines are buildt etc would make that empire building much more atmospheric.

Though one suggestion to add, I would love if cities show buildings present in it, so if you have theatres in it then one theathre model(Same size relation to other buildings) would be visible there. As Romans for example this would be a Colosseum(Or after a certain lvl it would look like that instead of a normal theater, and even further a Circus Maximus).

Maybe special buildings instead, like building the Colosseum specifically would be better, as an alternate approach to this, and have these spread around the world(Like the Colossus of Rhodes).

Last idea, one last thought:
Forts in terrains is fine looking like forts, but when you build them in cities, wouldnt it be better if that graphic model looked like a city wall instead, surrounding most of the city sprawl?

You mentoned forts - I agree and I am sure we will get more models for them as we got with the Magna Graecia pack. Playing an Illyrian culture tag in my current playthrough I think theirs as well as some other culture's forts (perhaps even Italics) would look better with the new hellenic acropolis than the roman imperial era looking forts.

Perhaps make a generic medditerranean fort that looks like a hillfort with stone walls and buildings so that tribals around the meditterranean dont share the wooden oppidum with continental celts.

At this rate I would rather they allocate that kind of battle animation efforts into cavalry units! :)
Yes, I miss seeing horse people roam the vast plains of modern day Russia-Ukraine.. I kinda wish they where mroe of a threat at times too, to raid and burn down cities etc, enslaving and killing.
