I realize that a common rebuttal against the idea of adding micro-provinces like this is that they are too small... but their size could just be exaggerated (like with Macau). The nation of Liechtenstein existed within EU4's time period and it's quirky status as a modern micronation should be enough to warrant it's inclusion.

The same could be said for other European micro-states (San Marino, Monaco, Vatican and Andorra). Just exaggerated the size to make them clickable.

Yes but this would make the realistic map unrealistic. Why make Liechtenstein the same size as the province of Milan when in reality it's 10 times smaller or whatever.

well what of all the islands that were made bigger so that they could be clicked. It would make sense for them to have some map inaccuracy and thus it would be ok if the size is a bit different as long as it is in the general area. Also the map gets distorted anyways since the game is flat and not a round object as the world is.

I don't mind englarging provinces but Liechtenstein is so small it just isn't viable as it would be nowhere near its real size on the map

The HRE had tons of states the size of Lichenstein that aren't included. Just having survived until today is not enough for inclusion in itself :)
We do make provinces larger than they ought to be for clickability (and this is true for many HRE states) but for that they they need to be more important than the surrounding states in some way.

Adding Liechtenstein would be more likely to decrease historical likeness rather than increase it, considering they will 95% of the time be conquered long before the end of the game, unlike an Austrian player decides to keep them for IA. It survived due to its irrelevance, and should thus be irrelevant.

Then following this reasoning, i would like to see the province of Oversticht (current day Overijssel) added as a province in Gelre, under Utrechtian control. It was under Guelder control since 1336, and was ceded to Utrecht in 1347, where it remained for quite a long time, until it was ceded to Charles V in 1528. It was also one of the founding member states of the Dutch Republic, and the Batavian Republic after that.

To be fair, at least with the Isle of Man it would be very easy to add and wouldn't take land from other provinces.

It would also be quite a large province too, hell in my mod I added Overijssel and Drenthe and both are a decent size for clicking. I really don't get why PDX haven't added it, it would make the map considerably nicer. A lot of the provinces in the Low Countries really need a rework though.
