I find it very hard to believe that it's intended for xenophiles to consider non-sentient robots, who cannot even think for themselves or be given rights, as "alien slaves".

This is definitely a bug.

On another note, I've been playing 1.6.1 and haven't noticed any major issues yet. I've only met one pacifist empire though so we'll see once I have contact with most of the galaxy.

I apologize for being dense here, but I can't quite make out the answer to this:

If I started a new ironman game yesterday (May 11th), will achievements be working once I apply today's beta patch? Or do I need to start a new ironman run?

From what I understand, you will get any achievements that you earn from now on, but you will not be granted any achievements retroactively in that game.

One new bug in the 1.6 series, not resolved with 1.6.1 beta.

- Fleets set to evasive (science vessels, corvette scout fleets) will cancel orders after they encounter a hostile fleet/critter and manage to retreat to the previous system. Which is very annoying behavior. It wasn't even a long trip (hyperlane-only game) to continue on to the next available system.

That might be intended. Quote from the patch notes:
* Ships no longer "skips ahead" to other queued systems when they encounter hostiles

That might be intended. Quote from the patch notes:

With regards to the patch notes on "will no longer skip ahead to queued" systems -- my understanding is that was to keep the ship from deciding that it could jump past the obstacle, instead of retreating to the system that it just came from. Which is fine, it probably shouldn't be possible to escape past what is blocking your way.

There's a thread floating around here where one of the developers admitted to changing the behavior so that if picking up at the next queued system would take more then 6 months to reach by an alternative route, the entire work queue is cleared. That's the change that annoys me (especially in a hyperlane game). That limit needs to be raised to 3-4 years.

What does "purging steam directory" exactly mean? Full reinstall of the game, deletion of specific folders, or deleting everything related to Steam?

-You unsubscribe every mod in your workshop (and will check it is nothing there even if you are 100% convinced nothing should be there)
-You uninstall the game
-You purge every leftover file in A)the Steam Stellaris folder and B)in the Stellaris save folder on c:\
-you install the game new
-in current case, you then opt in to the 1.6.1 beta ;)

Then you should have a squeaky clean installation 100% without any screwed up files from former mod shenanigans. Which should guarantee you achievements in new started Ironman games. As long as either A) You do not screw up the installation/checksum with mods again or B)Paradox wrecks the whole system (like 1.5 or 1.6).

Hey, I recently started a new game session and I've played as a fanatic militarist and materalist empire. As soon as I establish communications between another empire and mine, pacifist attraction changes from 0% to 16%. And this every time. Has someone a ideo how to prevent this?

Hi there.

I'm playing now fanatic spiritualist + authoritarianism

Have +30% ethics from fanatic spiriutalist
+10% to spiritualistic ethic from tamples on every planet
+10% and +20% ethics from edicts on every planet
+25% to ethics from global edict
+25% to ethics from race trait.

And what i see - is some shitish pacifism and materialism factions!
Suppressing not helping - they are growing up as nothing happens!
More of this - they growing up better then primary factions.
What the heck? Now i'm without influence because they wants to have robots and peaceful flowers in their butts.
Its a bug? Tested on pure 1.6 and 1.6.1.

Why not? The way FTL works in the game, the only valid reason not to continue forward when you evade rather than backing out is if you wouldn't have a path to safety in the new system. It's possible to check that too before you make the jump though, so why force the ship backwards?
