Hope 1.6.1 gets released proper for this weekend... I wanna do another Achievement run!
This might be intended, IIRC Wiz has made a few comments regarding slavery and how it impacts faction opinion now
I find it very hard to believe that it's intended for xenophiles to consider non-sentient robots, who cannot even think for themselves or be given rights, as "alien slaves".
I apologize for being dense here, but I can't quite make out the answer to this:
If I started a new ironman game yesterday (May 11th), will achievements be working once I apply today's beta patch? Or do I need to start a new ironman run?
One new bug in the 1.6 series, not resolved with 1.6.1 beta.
- Fleets set to evasive (science vessels, corvette scout fleets) will cancel orders after they encounter a hostile fleet/critter and manage to retreat to the previous system. Which is very annoying behavior. It wasn't even a long trip (hyperlane-only game) to continue on to the next available system.
* Ships no longer "skips ahead" to other queued systems when they encounter hostiles
That was Xenoist faction, not egalitarian (Progressive). But nevertheless - works for me as of now! Great thanks!!!* Fixed egalitarian faction unhappiness wrongly being generated by having robot "slave" Pops
That might be intended. Quote from the patch notes:
What does "purging steam directory" exactly mean? Full reinstall of the game, deletion of specific folders, or deleting everything related to Steam? Can confirm cheevos works with 1.6.1b fresh install + purging steam directory

* Fixed not being able to construct spaceports around Ringworld sections
Why not? The way FTL works in the game, the only valid reason not to continue forward when you evade rather than backing out is if you wouldn't have a path to safety in the new system. It's possible to check that too before you make the jump though, so why force the ship backwards? With regards to the patch notes on "will no longer skip ahead to queued" systems -- my understanding is that was to keep the ship from deciding that it could jump past the obstacle, instead of retreating to the system that it just came from. Which is fine, it probably shouldn't be possible to escape past what is blocking your way.

There's a thread floating around here where one of the developers admitted to changing the behavior so that if picking up at the next queued system would take more then 6 months to reach by an alternative route, the entire work queue is cleared. That's the change that annoys me (especially in a hyperlane game). That limit needs to be raised to 3-4 years.
