Little surprised by the lack of variety of the star system formation

Where are the multi sun systems? 2-3 stars with multiple planetary orbits each would be very interesting.

Where are the hyper giant gas giants?

Brown dwarf planets / star systems?

Young proto stars with asteroid clouds swarming the star?

More star variety - hypergiants, white dwarfs, everything inbetween and combinations of (hypergiant tied to a black hole?)

Wondering/ homeless planets?

This game needs an astronomy DLC just for these things alone

I agree.
Also have you noticed that each continental world has the same texture, except for Earth/Sol III? I've not noticed if it's the same for every planet.

I think multi star systems is something, they want to add later anyway. It just is hard to fit in the current system.

The rest of the list is...well some could be interesting, I guess. Hyperstars could be somewhat similar to black wholes, surrounded by remnants of a star system and with a high science value on them.

Brown dwarfs...I don't know if that would be so interesting. Such system couldn't have habitable planets in the first place.

Proto stars with asteroids? Well, it didn't say "Proto star" but it was a system that had only one planet at the edge of the system and the rest was one large asteroid belt.

Wandering planets would be somewhat hard to do, I think. What would that be? Just a system with a planet in the center?

Yes from interest to actual scientific realism I think this warrants inclusion.

Brown dwarfs or huge gas giants could certainly have larger deposits or at minimum larger number of moons.

Young stars surrounded by huge asteroid/comet clouds (could be belts later) could provide nice event chains, resources or even space combat modifiers (another area that could use work)

Wandering planets would be just as u mentioned, lone planets wondering space. Interesting option for events as well (tomb world), or wondering dyson sphere etc etc could all be possible.

Point being that from the astronomical science perspective the game can use much more to offer.
