Act of Union

Ok, I'm playing as England in my first GC in EU2. I have annexed two Scottish and two Irish provinces. If I annex all of Scotland(through military might or Diploannex), does that trigger the Act of Union? Or does that event come up at a certain date(ie 1706/1803)? I was just wondering because I REALLY want the British flag. Anyone who has any info please help me out here!

I'm guessing I have to own the Scottish provinces though for it to work?

Not sure about that.

Play the Age of Enlightment scenario, you begin in 1700 there.
Though, the scots get the option to be part of Great Britain, I think that one triggers the Act of Union event.
