Achievement Locked - The Chrysanthemum Throne

Started as Takeda on Ironman at the earliest start date, became Japan and still is Ironman. Here I am:

Shouldn't the achievement have unlocked by now? I've opened and closed the game a few times and double checked the achievement list just to make sure I hadn't overlooked it.

I did this the other day it's a specific mission I think, either united Japan or Japan united can't remember which one but if you take the wrong one i think you are screwed.

I think it has something to do with the CB you use to DoW the Shogun. You need to use the correct one so that my fully annexing the Shogun it will turn you into Japan and unlock the achievement.

iirc I was worried about the CB because I had read something similar but I made sure to select "War for the Emperor" which was my only option, after I annexed Kyoto an event fired and I became shogun (though I think I was still Takeda at this point). Then I took the last daimyo province (Hosokawa), Hokkaido, and then used the "Japan is United" decision which made me Japan, changed my government type and gave me some MP. I stuck around for a while because I read somewhere that I might need Okinawa but that didn't cause it to trigger either.

I think you need to form Japan upon making it to Shogun. One you are Japan you can eliminate the remaining Daimyos. I'm not sure though.

The achievement file doesn't show anything about an event. Start as a Daimyo in 11/11/1444. Become Japan and own all the Japanese region. From what I can tell it looks like you have the entire Japanese region unless there's a random province I'm not seeing that is mistakenly part of it. You might consider posting it in the bug forum though if no better explanation for it comes up.

I'm sure it's a bug. It shouldn't matter how you become Japan.

Same start date as all my other ironman runs. If you are sure it is a bug then I guess I should head over to Bug Reports. Thanks all.

Since there was an issue with region allocation with the Great Khan achievement, I went through all the provinces in the Japanese region. It's just all the normal Japanese provinces (excluding Okinawa) and the three provinces on Hokkaido, as it's supposed to be. Since you have all of those, the problem can't really be caused by that.

I think there used to be a requirement on how you formed Japan, but I'm pretty sure that caused the achievement to be recoded, and in its current form I don't see how that could still be a thing. I don't really see any reasonable explanation other then accidentally moving the date to the 12th of november 1444 before starting the game, not actually being in ironman, or steam having connection issues, thus not updating the achievement list. That is all pretty unlikely though

Achievements mess up if you click through years rather than selecting the bookmark. Did you do that?

I just did the achievement on a Live Stream on Twitch. The achievement is working fine.
The individual episodes will go up on my channel during the week.
