I have seen mentioned in other threads that there is some sort of 'accept all offers' command you can put in when trading. Is it possible to use the same thing when you want to take military control of an ally, and how do I do it?

I have looked through a few threads but can't find the one I saw it in.

Press F12 to open console, then write acceptall and you should get a confirmation message. Press F12 again to close the console. If you want to get rid of it write it again and you'll get a confirmation (yet again). It's quite handy for making peaces with AI aswell once in a while.

I don't think you need it to get military control; I've never seen that refused. Where it can be very useful is in creating peace deals with nations for which there are no surrender events.

I'm the UK and the USA refused letting me take military control twice. If I don't, how the hell can we beat Germany if I don't know what they're about to do?

The US have more IC than you. You cant militarily control them. Its like Italy cant control Germany because it has less IC.

jonesuk is right. Even using 'acceptall' the US turned me down. I suppose now I will have to re-laod as the USA and take military control of the UK.

It seems a shame you can't play as the UK and co-ordinate your actions with the USA in any meaningful way.

You can only military control countries which have less base IC than you.

EDIT: Emu'd.

Dont you need to finish with 'acceptall off' ??? - otherwise it stays active for all AI transactions as well - trades, stealing blueprints etc etc

Yes indeed, you need to cancel the cheat after you've used it or it continues to operate for the rest of your game. But the instruction is still 'acceptall' (not 'acceptall off') - it reverses any previous instruction.

Bit of an update - as the USA I have now taken military control of all the western and commonwealth allies. However, even though the diplomacy screen shows me as having control of them, Free French, Canadian and Australian units often countermand my orders and set of on their own. I wouldn't mind so much, but some of these units are holding critical positions and the AI sends them off on absurd missions.

I didn't have any problems when, earlier in the same saved game, I was the UK controlling the same forces.

Has anyone else seen anything similar?

I will have to abandon the game soon, which I have been playing for a couple of weeks, because my whole strategy is going to fall apart. Ideas?

The acceptall cheat is very nice. I for one loathe when an ally makes the map look ugly by conquering the wrong provinces, so I use the cheat on a regular basis to ensure the borders look good.

@Jonny
How many divisions do you have?

I personally had no trouble reaching ~150 divisions, including expeditionary forces from the Commonwealth, as the British by 1942. About 50 of those were my own.

I also have a self-imposed rule to only use military control over puppets. You have to pay a lot in upkeep, but it will at the same time allow your puppets to train more divisions for you since they won't have to focus on that.

I also had that in HOI games. Seems the AI countries have their own sets of priority - places to defend, to attack etc. It's indeed very frustrating. Focus on your own country instead, and on whatever troops your 'allies' let you order. After all, they're independent countries, aren't they?;)

Oh be careful with the "acceptall" cheat. I found the it works for the AI to. All their spy missions have 100% chance.

Is it possible to do a mod so that even countries with more IC than you would accept you taking military control, even if only by using acceptall and not normally in the game otherwise?

I would really like to play as the UK in the early game and then direct the USA when they join the war.
