Has there ever been or ever we be anything bigger than a AC40? I know you can mount an AC10 with a AC20. But I'm asking if there will ever be or ever we be anything like a AC 25, AC 30, AC35, OR DARE TO DREAM of AC40

That's what King Crab's are for.

Or Boomkitty's or BoomJaegers.

There are Naval Autocannon! : )

But those are too heavy to install on a Mech. : (

If you want things bigger than a 203mm-ish AC20 that aslo fit mechs, you're looking at artillery pieces such as Thumper or the Sniper, not autocannons.

There is also the Ultra AC20, that is an AC20 that shoots twice, but that's not available in the Inner sphere until well after 3025.

Could go with a Word of Blake Heavy Mass Driver. Weighs 100,000 tons, each round weighs 90 tons, and it does 1,400 damage. Sarna describes it as inaccurate against anything smaller than a moon and its use is likely to violate multiple articles of the Ares Conventions. :p

As far as battlemechs go, the largest weapons in this game are the AC/20 and the Gauss Rifle. The King Crab mounts 2 AC/20s. The Gauss Rifle does a bit less damage, but generates almost no heat and has extreme range. There are also 'mech mounted Thumper artillery cannons, but I don't expect those in this game (although they will probably get modded in eventually). Later down the timeline there is the Heavy Gauss Rifle which weighs 18 tons and can do more damage than an AC/20, but its damage falls off the further out the target is.

Honestly, given the scale differences between tanks and mechs, our weapons already are Naval weapon grade...

The Demolisher tank, the 80t tank which is dwarfed by the Spider's foot, is packing 2-203mm AC20s. The Bulldog, the 60t which is smaller then the Locust's big toe is packing a LL, which would be around probably 80-105mm.

Our mech's AC2s are already like, 152mm sized, our AC20s are like 18.1 inch naval guns, if not bigger.

There's the Long Tom which can actually be mounted on mechs, it was even in MW4.

The longtom, like the A10's Gau-8 Avenger, is not a mech packing a gun, its a gun carrying a mech...
