The recent 2.2.4 change how synthetic work in some faction, but it cause another lore problem
Now Xenophile faction see robot as one of their native species , so it won't -1 species for their issue “Multicultural Society” (If I understand the patch note currently)
But Xenophobe won't see robot as one of their native species, you can't give them full citizenship . But in 2.1 , it is possible.
Which created a problem , why Xenophobe won't see robot as their native like Xenophile .Even I played as a Xenophobe-Egalitarian-Materialist Empire, and I turned all my pops into synthetic.

Xenophiles: "Robots are wonderful and all, but they're not strange and different. We made them, we know every facet of their minds."

Xenophobes: "Robots are a marvel by our species, but they can never hold a candle to the brilliance of their makers - us. We should never have one rule when we could rule better."

Then why Xenophobe is possible to give synthetic full citizenship in 2.1?
Does they "fix" it in 2.2 , or they "break" it because the changed?
What do you think ?

(Sorry English is no my native)
In 2.1 , if you play as Xenophobe , you are able to give synthetic full citizenship .
But in 2.2 , you can't do that anymore
So I wonder does they saw this as a gaitch and fix it , or it just a new gaitch that let Xenophobe saw synthetic as alien.

I haven't played Xenophobe since 2.2, so I wouldn't know. If you think it's a bug, report it in the Bug Report section.

Xenophobe is all about one specie supremacy if not Pacifist, and about isolationism otherwise. Where AI rights come into play here? I thought myself it was a glitch Xphobes could give robots full citizenship.

To be fair, I can see one case where it makes sense for synthetics to have full citizenship as xenophobe: if you've converted the entire population, the xenophobes thus voluntarily committing genetic suicide...

Thinking of synthetics in Stellaris, I can't help remembering Greg Egan's wonderful short story, "learning to be me".

But even you are no play as a Materialist- Xenophobe Empire (of cause you can't give ai right if you play as Spiritualist , so that doesn't count) , you can still give ai right as a Xenophobe Empire in 2.2 ,but when you try to give them full citizenship , it will said "Our empire considers this species to be too alien" , but synthetic are't "alien" , synthetic(robot) are made by their own specie ,so it shouldn't look, sound or act like an "alien". This is one of the reason i think it is a new gaitch .
If it wasn't , i will hope they at least change the description to something more sensible .

I think that Xenophobes shouldn't give citizen rights to anyone, even if their perfect minds were transferred into perfect synthetic bodies. If your tools can talk, they don't cease to be tools. And for Xenophobes tools could be mute, mewing and talking.

Now it really turn to a philosophy problem , after all pops has been transferred into synthetic bodies. they will look the same as their synthetic (by Default) , how they gonna know which one is "robot synthetic" anyway ? of course you can modify the appearance of your native/synthetic , but because they are using the same "brain" . theoretically they should be the same as synthetic .

You see, our specie was perfect to start with, now we just immortilized ourselves for whole world to cry in envy. And our imperfect robotic tools only resemble us.

Well that was one of the explanation , but i guess only the developers can decide this is a bug or a feature .
btw you must play a lot of Xenophobe empire , did you think Xenophobe need a buff ? i think it don't get enough buff to offset its cons .

I like Xenophobes and frankly don't see any use for a buff. Only issue I had with them that Xenophobic Egalitarian slavers can't resettle their slaves. They are very good for leadership builds as well. Rulers + droids is a very good combo. Might sound bit strange, but I like Bio ascension even with heavy reliance on robots, although synth assimilation of conquests is probably the best in late game.

Btw, what happens in 2.2.5 if you don't give AI full rights and change your specie into synths?
Runaway inflation.

That's what always happen if you change your currency to embodied intelligent mobile units. You'll never know where the money went.
