So I'm about to preorder stellaris and I'd prefer to do so from the paradox store. However, it's a lot easier for me to preorder through steam because it has the option to pay through iDeal (which basically means a very direct payment from your bank account to the retailer). I'd rather not go through a credit card (I don't have one) or paypal. So I have the following questions:

1. Does it make a big difference for paradox if I get it through steam or through paradoxplaza?
2. Are you looking at the option of iDeal payments in the paradox store in the future?

And maybe a third question, am I making too big of a deal for not wanting to use paypal? It just feel like a completely unnecessary barrier to me and yet another service you have to sign up for.

I think they stated somewhere they get more money from Paradox Store.

You don`t have to use a credit card, common VISA or MASTERCARD debit card is as good as any credit card, it just has to have internet payments allowed (check if it has the 3-digit CVV code on the back side). Pretty much any standard bank account in my country comes with a standard VISA or MASTERCARD card issued by default and I never had any issues using it for internet payments anywhere.

IMHO getting a Paypal account is a good thing long term for paying online, as you can use it almost anywhere instead of sharing your card info with lots of different sites increasing the risk it willl be stolen by hackers (as there are more places it can be stolen from).
