Eh I’m hoping they take their time and make the USSR a very well made tree and expansion. I hope the USSR rework pushes the boundaries with regards to the quality of focus trees and decisions, and also has some meaningful alt history paths besides the usual meme stuff like Romanov Restoration. I know the devs have already talked about some of the things they want for the USSR rework, and I’m really hopeful it lives up to the hype

Battle for the Bosporus (BtfB) is 1.10 'Collie' which is specifically a country pack. Which according to them is only minors with no (or almost no) mechanics changes.

At the same time they are working on 1.11 'Barbarossa', which probably (but they might be faking us out) is the Soviet rework along with major changes to land combat (they said they wanted to pair them together when they were explaining why they hadn't done the Soviets yet.)

I wouldn't count on Italy being done as part of 1.11, so we probably have to wait another cycle for them (i.e, 1.12, or 1.13 if they do another paired Country pack and Major DLC at the same time).

Given it's a country pack it's fine, I also prefer one expansion+one country pack per year rather than 1 expansion per year as a policy. The Soviet rework should come along a rework of defensive warfare and logistics, that takes a lot of to do right so I'drather wait till early summer next year and get a well worked out focus tree (where the historical route for once is a really fun one), withhreqt details and all.

This is on par with a "flavor pack" it is a small dlc that comes between large dlcs. This is the result of people complaining that focus trees "don't count" as dlc because lots of people just use mods. The next major DLC has been heavily implied as being the USSR.

There are like half a dozen threads like this every day.

I have to agree with Dlin. Hopefully the existence and release of Battle for the Bosporus means they won't feel rushed for 1.11 and given us something truly mind blowing for the long awaited Soviet rework, and some long awaited mechanical changes and overhauls.

Still wondering when they'll get around to wunderwaffen. We really do need warfare tweaks and a real logistics system first, but having to wait 1.5-2 more years for wunderwaffen is also an unpleasant prospect.

I still would prefer a more active rework of Stalin v Trotsky or other dissenting communist voice.

I personaly think the big Boom we will get with the new big Patch and DLC 1.11 (like with the MtG-Changes). In the last Video you can see that something get done for Ministers, Army etc.-People on your Prinz Arthus-Table as well as new Decissions.

But the big Changes we will first get again with the next Step. The Devs already explained, that they are not happy with some things and a big refit / rework have to be done, which couldnd´t be done with one big Patch incl. Patchupgrades and DLC.

They announced that the Wounderweapons (2 of them are already in the Game) get more, Airforce- and Army-Fights reworked / refited, the R & D System refited / reworked to the MTG-System and much more.

And YES, ITALY will be done, but NOT WITH 1.10 "Collie" and the BfP-DLC. So be happy that the Balkan, Ressistance-System and such which get in in the last Version get fixed etc with that DLC and Patch.

Both are in parallel Development, which means 1.10 "Collie" and the BfP-DLC is only the first Step of what will come.

The major's focus tree won't work the same way as BfP dlc pack.

Since the majors' historical focus path already include in the base game. Thus, making them free when they're reworked. Usually, you buy the expansion for its alternative history contents and new mechanics. You couldn't take out the developing mechanics and sell the alternative one. Let's be honest. You did not buy LaR for the Napoleon and MtG for 2nd US civil war. You buy them for the new mechanics released along with those memes and fantasies.

Of course, the Devs could just rework the historical focus trees for free. It's not really free though. Since you already bought the base game. But the fact that they will have to rework them again alongside the new mechanics. You could not fully rework USSR without the new mechanics of logistic and weather. So why bother reworking something will definitely be reworked again in the future. It's a waste of time and money, that most of companies are trying to avoid.

You will eventually get the historical trees for free with fully implemented features and mechanics. Or you could just download tons of focus tree mods while waiting.

The Devs have a clever Stragey for some special new Mechanics, Decisions, Focus-Reworks etc. They bring it in for all Countrys in an Minor-DLC and medium Patch (like 1.10 "Collie") for Testing, which they wanna bring later to full running with an big DLC and Patch (like 1.11 "Barbarossa). The Lines / Changes are there and will be used with the big BOOOMMMMM!

A clever thinking from the Devs, because a Minor is much more easy to repair then all the Majors if something goes wrong.

That´s called: Strategically and Tactically Groundwork.
