Hi every one.
My question may be stupid but I really want to know that if the regiments in V2 will grow automatically like in EU3?
In my game I found that my soldiers died then the regiments just keep in that size?
thx

As the solider POP declines in size the reiforce rate of the unit slows down. Best option is to research medicine. It reduces attrition losses and pushes up population growth.

Thx for reply

So that means to reforce the regiments( or say units? ), some conditions are needed, like soldier pop and medicine etc.?
Then when the conditions are reached, things should be like EU3?
It's the first time I pick Vic series, then I found myself a totally noob..

No the rate of reinforcement is decided by the size soldier POP. If you hover the mouse pointer over the soldier icon the unit interface it will tell you about the size of the solider POP that the unit is tied to. Combat loses are also suffered by the soldier POP so as you lose people your ability to replace loses starts to decline. Medicine's inventions has two neat effects, reduce the ammount loses due to attrition and increase the rate at which the solider POP grow.

Fryz, your brigade will reinforce so long as the soldier POP it is assigned to isn't below a critical level.

The amount of men it reinforces with per month, however, is heavily dependent on:
  1. Its location
  2. The size of the POP
  3. The amount of supplies it receives

The most common reason for a brigade not to receive any new men when you are learning the game is that it is out of supplies. No supplies, no reinforcement at all, so check the supply status.

You should definitely aim for medicine as an early tech if you want to use your army a lot, but the reason you want to do that is its fourfold benefits to the warmonger:
  1. To increase provincial support limits
  2. To limit your attrition casualties
  3. To increase the number of casualties that are returned to your POP (military hospitals) - or if you will, to decrease the damage inflicted to the POP from taking casualties, it comes to the same thing in the end
  4. To have your soldier POPs grow faster due to a boost to natural growth

Medicine is a key tech. :)

Thx for reply so far!
And yeh I really noticed that all my armies are out of supplies.
More details here, I'm playing a uncivilized nation, but my POP is ok.
I was told that my armies are lacking supplies, but how can I provide supplies? The stockpile? but in my game there's always nothing in my stockpile, I let the trade go automatically, is that the reason( I guess it's not )?

The part of support limits seems very likely to EU3, if I'm right then the problem is not here.

And for location... I don't get it all, is that meaning "in a desert province soldier boys die fast" or something other?

Thank you again ( I guess if the threat continues to be replied I'd say it again and again:rofl:)

Oh, and one more question, what does the colour under the amount of army means? green is good red is not, but what do they exactly mean?

The national stockpile slider on the budget screen would be the first place to look.

If you have set it to zero, no supplies will be bought.

If you are completely out of money and cannot get more loans, you won't buy military supplies either... but I have a hard time imagining V2 China running out of money without exceptionally weird playing by the player.

If you have set it to something greater than zero, check the tooltips for military maintenance. You just might be in the terrible position of not being able to buy the things you need for the military due to lacking availability. This should in general not happen, but if it does, start recruiting irregular brigades; They require wool and there's usually plenty

If it is not one of these, then I think I am stumped for tonight. :D
