First of all, I would like to thank HBS for adding that quicker turn option.
Though I think it is not quite there. When a shot has been made, a mechwarrior will comment on that hit...
"shot got internal"
"cant take another one of those"
"barely a scratch"
etc.
At that time you just stare at the mech. When you have played 50 missions, you learn to read the GUI at the top, and you see the blinking parts as well as the hits through the 3D world. Once you are on that level of game-experience the additional info from the pilots become irrelevant.
It could be an idea to actually have the ability to skip this "outro" of the sequence. To me, it is the part that drags the game out the most. You basically just stare at the mech for several seconds and there is nothing happening.
Oh, and maybe also make the knockback animation skippable. It also takes quite some time and there is no new info here. Once you seen 100 mechs knock over, there is no real benefit to watch it the 105th time.
