I wonder has anyone tried to write an utility that simulates a medal awarding? Some tool that analyzes a save game file, attributes war achievements of a combat unit to its leader, weights different accomplishments that are recorded by the game across units/commanders (such as experience gain, number of battles won, battles that are won while being outnumbered, great battles won (those that involved significant forces from both sides), conquering victory point provinces, sunk ships etc) and rewards most outstanding leaders according their contribution with a historic medals.
If that hasn't been done, could this be done? Is the relevant unit/battle data attributable to a leader? Maybe this awarding feature could be implemented into the main game via some patch in future? Then, similarly to trait gains, there might be a message popup informing that particular leader has been rewarded with a particular medal and this info would be reflected also as part of his officer's stats. It would add a nice little flavor to the game.
PS. By the way, does anyone here have a habit to reward his/her officers 'manually'? If so, what's the procedure, or how do you do that?
