I'm assuming there's something like the revolt.txt file like there was in EUII. Only countries with tags that were on that list could revolt.

would this be the same for say "Liberating" captured provinces (or entire countries) from an enemy ie. US player removes all German forces from Vichy France does Vichy France then "revolt" and become regular France again?

OR would the US player then have a whole new chunk of europe and France would have to revolt from the US player

then wouldn't that make the US and France enemies? but if they're both on the "allies" side they can't be enemies and so france would have to switch to being a fashist country but - oh god i've gone cross-eyed...

As in EU II, a country has to be predefined as existing to be able to become independent.

BiB's AAR as Japan mentions a country declaring independence. I believe it was Siam splittling off from British southeast Asia. This presumably had something to do with the invasion he was carrying out there at the time...
