During the past 'World War Wednesday' stream, Daniel took both Austria and Czechoslovakia as Hungary. And when he clicked on Germany diplomacy, there was literally no negative opinion toward Hungary even though they conquered two countries which Germany historically took before the World War. This seems ridiculous that Germany isn't even slightly bothered by Hungary's aggressiveness, or the border friction or the fact that it took 2 nations that Germany was supposed to take. I think just like the 'desired provinces' mechanic in EUIV, there should be something similar in HOIV.

Also quick question, will naval units be able to influence or assist in ongoing land battles? (like fire support)

Im want my games to be ahistorical, but within reason.
Hungry being able to attack 3 neighboring countries (maybe 4, Romania), before anyone even bats an eye or changes relations is kinda much.

Maybe the player should be forced to cede certain parts or appease such neighbors with trade agreements. Having to sacrifice nothing and gaining close neighbors into your Empire? With no negative effects? Well, that's just a bit ridiculous

Also I thought it was too easy for Daniel to conquer Austria and Czechoslovakia. He took both countries in a bit over a year, and he also said that the Czechs had a bigger army than he did.With this pace, he will conquer Yugoslavia and Romania before 1939.
The AI does not seem to put up much of a fight, which worries me quite a bit!

Part of this problem is, that annexed provinces apparently do NOT gain unrest, which is absolutely ridiculous!

Yes also the fact that there was no partisan or resistance in the newly conquered regions is annoying, the 1930s was a peak for nationalism across Europe. I can't believe that there was absolutely no resistance fighters after annexing their entire nation.

I think the Problem is that Germany has to do the national Focus "Anschluss" to get the Claim . Before that there is no Reason for the HOIVI hitler to be upset same with the czechs. That is of course not realistic. Furthermore should neighbours react harsh against threats like hungary by Embargo the sh** out of them. I mean.... Until now it is surrounded by states if they would close the borders hungary would fast have to stop "liberating". But in the end it is a game and it is nearly impossible for it to fulfill everything that is expected with historically precision.

The state of HOI4 is not encouraging.

It really looks like HOI3 v1.0 (but with prettier graphics, wow that's a plus...) - Exploitable mechanics, Dumb-as-bricks AI, Masses of Infantry/Militia always wins.

Except the AI is *key* to the gameplay experience. Mechanics can be detailed or not, graphics can be polished or not (who buys Paradox games for graphics?), but if the AI is a complete fool, then the game becomes boring real fast.

Even if they dont have a claim, theres still border friction and aggressive expansion and whatnot.
