Well, I will try to keep this short.

Now, you know how, if Byzantium doesn't exist, they are orthodox, their culture is Greek, and they Own some core provinces, that they can then reform Byzantium.

Now, I have another idea aswell. What if, once Byzantium finally falls(due to it having been the last remnants of the Roman Empire). Then a nation with Italian Culture, Having cored all the Italian Region(or most of it I guess), being Catholic/Orthodox, and if Byzantium doesn't exist, you can reform the Roman Empire in Italy.
