I hope so because if they offered the Atlas statue I would be able to place an order this time around.

Hey @Zavia!

It looks like we will not get further merch from HBS. They had a special one-time deal for the kickstarter with the owner(s) of the IP, but sadly not beyond.

See this backer-update for more details: https://community.battletechgame.com/forums/threads/4920 (in the second half of the article, right after the pictures).

Best regards and a harty salute

Will HBS be selling more physical stuff? I totally missed the previous BT merch that was offered.
HBS is a game development studio and not a merchandise company. That said, they did try to sell some crowd-funded items on BattleTechGear.com, but as you can read on that page it didn't turn out too well - only a couple of items ever reached the threshold for beginning a production run.

In short, don't count on it. Let it be a pleasant surprise if it does happen :)

Yea, im aware of it, i didnt read it until after the hoo haa.
Hence hoping they would open it again now with more people in it. The steam BT forums are exploding.

There was some discussion at GenCon last year of trying messenger bags and lighter weight jackets/hoodies after the steins and coasters were crowdfunded. I don't believe there have been any updates since then.

Merchandising sucks.
It's expensive, it's a logistical nightmare, unexpected delays are always expected, invariably there are quality issues, returns, cancellations, left over inventory, shipping issues, etc.

Unless it's what you do, it is not a great idea. It's why you rarely see game companies do anything other than one off, limited specials.

While cool, I'd rather see a partnership with Topps to produce BT gear than distract the HBS folks with more merch hell.

I couldn't bring myself to order the stein, but I did purchase the coasters. They are very cool and well made. I use them all the time :).

The steins and coasters and jackets are cool, but we need a good BattleTech t-shirt. Nothing says "buy this video game" like seeing a giant robot skull on someone's chest.

Honestly, I don't get it. The one they people kept asking for on the Kickstarter was if the House stuff could possibly be made available at a latter date. Specifically the banners.

The first merch offer they have is for the banners and it didn't get funded...

I personally think the price point on the crowdfunding was higher than people expected. Also if I remember right, with the crowdfunding, you had to buy the entire pack.

As a matter of fact our very own @HBS_InspectorHound was sporting a Proof of Concept example of the messenger bag at GenCon 2017:

IIRC the banner pack on the merch crowdfunding was $60. For 5 or 6 banners. That's $10 or $12 each. Not a bad deal at all.

But on reflection that particular deal might have just missed being funded...

Anyway, don't mind me...still bummed about not completing my banner set, so...

At the time, a lot of people commented that they wanted to get specific banners and weren't interested in having to buy a bundle that included a bunch of stuff that was of no use to them.
