I just started thinking as I see them posted and post these birthday posts myself. In general I think it's a great way to remember all the outstanding AARlanders there are. But I think that the posts are becoming quite repetitious and empty, AARland has grown and some users remain unfamiliar to me and maybe to other people too.
So I'm thinking that whoever posts a new thread congratulating somebody, he/she should add some of the congratulatee's work to the post and/or say what it is that they are known for.
For example: "If I should congratulate Duke of Wellington, I'd say that he is a darn good writAAR and is known for his ability to be and comment everywhere in AARland. I believe that his constructiveness has inspired and helped a lot of young writAARs to get started with their AARs."
This way we'll all get to know each other much better and the birthday boy/girl will feel the wishes much better.
Tell me what do you think about this proposal?
