Yes, I find that silly too. Why not have a little attrition always when moving? It is also irritating to move an army three regions and always have to pause the game on the first and then move a region further. It would be easier if you could just click them to the region you want and have attrition anyway, not only the first.

You can do that, In fact that is what you are supposed to do. ;)

When you stop your troops from moving during the end of the month you are using an exploit or cheat. Since you happen to know that it is only calculated at the end of the month.

This one is easy to fix guys, just don't do it if you do not want to.

But what if I play Milan for example and I can't move my army anywhere (1-province country)
It doesn't suffer attrition but it should.

Well, if you're talking about everyday desertions and accidents that should result in loss of fighting men, consider those losses so small that they are replaced for free, or else you'd have to start calculating the age of units, so that they cannot live for more than 25-some years (old age pensioning)
