Would be nice if you can decide if go full synth, full psych, full genetic OR mix at least 2 of them without completing a single path. For example in WH40k space marines are genetically and cyber enhaced, but not fully (they are not genetic perfection nor robots).

p.s.: Question, when you go synth or ascend, does the portrait change somehow? Would be nice if it gets special effects depending on what path is chosen

Logically speaking nothing stops cyborgs from being psionics or genetically engineered. Seems like a technical limitation, but first gene perk, for example, only gives straight bonus to gene modification. Contradicting events perhaps?

Well not really, a full synth body does not allow the use of psyonic (at least in stellaris lore I guess) and since it is full mechanic, it doesn't allow the genetic engineering as well. However, picking the first perk of each path would be a good alternative to the completion of a single one and may introduce to another "quest" about the perfect balance between all the paths.

I would guess you need to be materialist to go synchs which would mean you can't get psyonic which requires spiritualist. I would also bet they are mutually exclusive like many national focus in HOI4

That's why I used word "cyborg" instead of "synth".

Oh yes missread xd

Yeah they could allow to go synth/psy/gen without materialistic/spiritualist/??? requirements (for example if I'm xenophobe militarist) but you can't go synth if you are spiritualist and vice versa. So if you are not spiritualist nor materialistic you can mix the perks, but if you are mat/spir you must complete a single path.
