Sorry about the wordy title. I was just surprised.

I was starting a new game in Ireland as a count, no vassals. Going through all my tabs, I noticed something curious. I am able to change the succession law into anything without trouble immediately (except Absolute Cognatic, which I don't have the culture for). I can even pick things that the game says I don't have the requirements for, such as Primogeniture and Ultimogeniture.

Is this a hidden feature, that you can change a succession law to anything you want (within your culture) as long as you have no vassals (essentially, an autocratic decision, which does make sense)? I hope so, because if it's a bug, I'll be slapping myself for exposing it.

If you are not running Conclave, most of the advanced succession laws require high CA. However, since the Kingdom of Ireland does not exsist yet, no crown laws apply at all and so you can pick any succession law. You also need to have ruled more than ten years, but most of the Irish counts fulfill that requirement in the early starts.

In other words: It's WAD, No Slapping Is Necessary.
