Hi, if you have read my latest Italy thread you will know I am playign my first game as Italy.

One thing I have noticed that I hadn't to date is the fact that it appears you are forced to keep certain Land Doctrines dependent on which nation you are playing as. For example Italy can only go for Mass Assualt and Trench Warfare; if my understanding is correct?

Surely it should be the case that Italy be able to pursue Blitzkrieg if it so wish's - obviously this would take some time; but should be achievable if it dedicated resource to that aim and gained blueprints from Germany (if/when allied).

Am I not realising soemthing here, am I missing a trick or am I (as Italy) stuck with outdated Land Doctrines by which to mount my war in the Med?

In Doomsday you can abandon a doctrine, and then go and pursue whatever doctrine your heart desires... (albiet with less effective Tech teams, as in Italy tech teams might not be so good with the Blitzkrieg Doctrines).

(Doomsday only) select the doctrine you want to abandon (in the tech screen, obviously) a button labeled "abandon doctrine" will appear in the bottom right (near the tech components listing)

...go to your savegame, delete them from the entry for your country, and restart.

That won't change the event chances, the HQ bonuses, naval positioning, mission efficiencies, unit costs, locked techs, etc. If you want to edit your doctrines, either buy DD (in which Abandon Doctrine is heavily bugged) or edit it in the scenario file before starting your game, so that the game works out what bonuses/etc you should have.
