Hi all :)

As the title says... should we be able to more options when constructing robots?

For example:
- any (same as now, it just builds templates one by one, as soon as the previous is finished)
- a specific type (same as now, it just builds them in sequence)
- then, beneath these two current options, there's a little pop-down menu or something:
- 1x (it builds one robot pop of a selected type, after which it prompts you to choose again)
- 5x (same as above)
- 10x (same as above)

Ideally: you can input how many yourself, and not have fixed options, but I dream, probably...

My reason for this is:

Well, since we can't really designate templates for certain roles only, we're forced to be very attentive to the robot pop assembly process, over a long period of time. If I have 10 agricultural slots that I want to fill with harvester trait robots... and I also have 15 mining slots that I want to fill with drilling robots... maybe I should be able to designate that I want 10 drilling robots built? No more, 10. Because I don't need the drilling robots in my entertainer slots, or researcher, or who knows what.

Now, this is still a far cry from a level of work-slot control that I'd like, but it would help. We can still keep the default "just build whatever in sequence, automatically"... Yeah, that's fine. But this option would be for those people running many types of robots, praying to the Code-Gods that they will be allotted correctly. So this would be a nice help to try and achieve at least part of that.

And why not, why wouldn't we be able to make specific "orders" for robots? It's a QoL improvement, in the least.

Thank you for reading, ideas and criticisms welcome.

Yeah it'd be cool if you could queue up specific designs (and specific sub-species) to build (and grow).

Two robo-scholars then six robo-technicians then generic +5% ongoing.

Precisely. I find it so tiresome to manage multiple robot types... especially since I can’t modify the “excess” that gets built bcs my concentration failed for a fee in-game years.

I know somebody will come and say “just resettle or sell the ones you don’t need”. I don’t like that :)

Honestly this is a part of why Synth Ascension is so powerful, because you can just slap on the +5% production / -10% upkeep and all the other passive bonuses stack and you're quite competitive with a micro-intensive empire that has exactly the right traits in the right places -- without any micro on your part.

Yeah, I also resort to having only one optimal robot type, and just spam it. Even without synth stuff, it’s just easy, convenient and allows you to not experience the incredible inconvenience of trying to specialize your robots and have exact numbers of them in exact places.

But I want to :D

I shamelessly self-bump this EXCELLENT idea, under threat of forum dwellers being annoyed

I hope against hope that the idea will penetrate a Dev's brain-shields, and we get this option in an update eventually.
