No leaders can have IDs above 20000, that will make the game crash.

Copying leaders into the save game, while changing ID numbers to 16001 and on should work, compare with other nations to see if format changes from leader file to save-game file.

All leaders in game, as monarchs, are gathered from save-file, only events are gathered from original files.

Try and try again ;) Good luck.:)

Going to play Mirò tonight and post results tomorrow.

Enjoy the Talisker ;) I'd take a Laprohaig or a Grönsteds XO Cognac to join you, but I've had enough Port today to last me in the spiritual department for today. (Swedes are not made out for 30 degrees C at days and 20 at nights, it's too hot)

Joan Miró.. this will look..primitive :D

Try to get military access to Fez, Portugal or Spain, to be able to explore somewhat better, or go quickly down the coast with the whole navy and a sizable army to clear out and colonize Noadibuh or some coastal province there to use as a base for exploration.

Many thanx again for help ! :)

Mirò went well but was short. His Paintings are finished also and I just need to find some coherent text.

I'm a little bit worried about Vermeer who has to come next. His Painting are difficult to transpose into the story... Anyone has an idea how to kill him aand replace him by someone we fancy ?

Sharur, once you touch Photoshop you love it...

The Reign of Mirò 1483-1498

1021.jpg

It has to be said here that Mirò always wanted to be a Painter, or at least paint. From his very tender age onto his last days of life it has been so. His family lived in a farm, some miles away from Hermannstadt, and if they weren't poor, well, you know, those were times where the earth used to be flat. He began drawing at the age of two. One might have said he was talented, but at the age of 11 he still couldn't draw a line straight, they all ended in curves. His way to school was also a curve. Lately, as we questioned his Professor ( a man called Nesbeeb) about the honour it must had been to teach Mirò, he just answered : "Dond drrrry to foool me jungue Man, I woullld hafe rememberrd hafing ze Leaderr off ze Nazion in my classrrrrooom." By the age of 16, his parents were desperate. "What are we going to do with our son ?" they asked themselves. Mirò had given up the lines, he was now really painted with oil.
This is one of his first ones.

By the age of 18, it was set. Mirò would go to the art school. But unfortunately he failed his exams. Nobody liked what he was painting, his comrades laughed about him. Surprisingly, only one of the teachers, some man called Nesbbeen , once said to those laughing young fellows, " don't make fun out of him, if there's only one to make it, he will be the one". So what now, Mirò asked to himself. There was only one solution, he had to go to the cartography school. There he would still be able to do some Painting. Unfortunately, again he failed. Drawing a line was really required to be a good cartographer.

This is were his fabulous destiny started. Would Mirò have lived in any other country but Siebenbürgen, he would have remained unknown. But it happened that this Country we all know, had strange rules. The people from Siebenbürgen were afraid of having a hereditary crown. So, as they King, they chose the worse Painter from the Kingdom, or better to say the less understood one. This had two purposes. The first reason was to avoid war oriented leaders, as Painters should rather be Pacific folks. The second reason was to develop modern art, in giving a chance to these Painters that no one would like.

This is how, as being the player of this Game I came to meet Mirò. I must said I liked him, but I also hated him. He wasn’t a month on the Throne, that he already asked ;
«_Apebe, why don’t I have a Columbus ?_». «_ I don’t know Sire_», I said.

«_Apebe, I want a Columbus, and also settlers, the Spaniards have’em, I want them too_».
«_ I want my Columbus, I want my Columbus, I want my Columbus, I want my Columbus, I want my Columbus,_» he kept on repeating day after day.
Hum. I did several times the whole country in search of a man called Columbus. Unfortunately we had more German, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian and Greek names. But no Columbus. This took me the whole year 1486. In December however, I fell on a note from the Ministry of Education, saying that handwriting was getting worse. This made Tilt in my head. I managed to found some guy called Colombos in Athens and I took him to the King Mirò.

«_ Why do you bring me this Colombos guy, Apebe_» he asked as he was looking at the ID of the poor Man.
[note from the editor to younger readers : ID used to be Handwritten by that time]
«_ Haven’t you read the Ministry’s note, your Paintitude ?_» I said
«_ the note, which note Apebe_» he asked
«_ the one from the Ministry of Education, the one reporting the O and U problem we’ve been having recently_».
«_ CULUMBUS ? I don’t want a Colombo’s !_»
«_ No, no, no, your Paintiness, not the first one. Aren’t you overwhelmed ?_».
«_ Apebe, you found him, you found him !_» he said in an extended explosion of joy.

On the next day, King Mirò organised a meeting to introduce our Columbus fellow to the rest of the Government. Mirò had done a painting that ruled what was next to come.
«_Here are our instructions_», he said to the whole assembly.

1017.jpg

«_Columbus, you are asked to sail west and pass those countries. See what is there and come back_».

Colombos was really getting worry, as all he had done in his life was cooking kebabs. I told him there was nothing to worry about, since I would give him 3 wonderful ships and our finest Albanian sailmen. This is how, on the very first days of January 1487, Colombos took the see.

In July, Colombos passed Gibraltar and sailed south. He discovered a land he called Senegal. It was time to sail back to Morea. Even if he had saved some sheep for a big Kebab Party, foods were running low.
In December, The Kebab Party turned into a disaster. The barbeque set a ship in fire and one vessel was lost. We quickly sent the rest of our fleet to meet and started to calm the fire that was already getting onto the two other ships.
In may 1488 only our joined fleet arrived in Morea. The King Mirò however was delighted. He asked me to reembark with 3000 men to colonize this new territory.

Rule #7
Any form of Kebab Parties are prohibited on ships.

My journey went well and by end of August we grounded in Senegal. We made all the arrangements for the settlers to come. We first settled a trading post and then finally a new colony in September 1490. Ho well. Now we had a harbour that would helps us to discover new territories.

We increased during the next years our colony in Senegal to the size of a lovely town. Unfortunately, we had to set a new rule.

Rule #8
The population of a city can’t not go beyond 700 inhabitants. If that is the case, zombies should replace the dead men.

Meanwhile, Colombos had the mission to discover new shipping roads more south. He discovered also new territories but we were concentrated on the colonization of Senegal.

This was a peaceful Time for our country. In contrary Europe had to face continuous intern wars. France was beginning to be a huge Monster. In the Iberic peninsula it was a mess. We had many states and only Portugal seem to do fine.

1018.jpg

In 1494, we discovered a new continent. But the Powerful King of Portugal was already there. In the very same year, we also met new countries in Africa, but we took Peaceful relations as King Mirò was a Peaceful Man.

One day, King Mirò woke up and just said
«_let’s buy it_».
As the treasury was empty we had to take_a loan. We still don’t know today what we bought or what the King wanted to bauy. Hopefully, we could pay the loan back in time._

The following years went quiete and fine. Mirò, albeit having gain no new Provinces in Europe, had shown us the way to build an Empire overseas.

These are absolutely exquisite Apebe - each one a lovely work of art. This is such a fascinating and unique idea!

For some reason I find this image very moving...I love the use of oranges and reds. :)

It's also linked to the DP (Domestic Policy) sliders, especially the innovativeness/narrowmindedness sliders. The more narrowminded you are, the more colonists you get. :)

I really liked your Miro screens. The first one reminded me stronly of a print my former supervisor used to have in his office.
