Yes, I could've Cat Lord. But having no Art Books here at home (hum neither in my office) and having myself already set a big challenge I thought I'll just do it like that.
Anyway,I've reported the analysis to Professor Beebsen and have done the Reign of Picasso today. I shall post the result soon... Just some pictures to finish and some text to type.

more rules

Rule #4
As I've already picked up the French Monarchs and Spanish Leaders I thought I could also change both the Province and State Religion into a German one. No jealousy has to be found. After all, it's not so anti-historical this time, but I think this has been already discussed in a different thread.

Rule #5
Colour Tubes and Painting material are very expensive. I wont hesitate to borrow money from some friends, and maybe from the bank also if they agree to lend to a poor art student.

Rule #6
I will allow myself to reload but not to rewrite anymore the different files. Enough Codes ...

Well, I thought I had done my analysis about the strategic situation and I could allow myself a glass of Talisker. There wasn’t after all so much to analyse. Siebenbürgen was a small country. One province only, I last counted 7000 inhabitants. Picasso had a nice level ONE fortified villa with 7000 guards and 3000 Polo players. That really wasn’t enough to do anything.

Austria, England, Hungary and so many others seem to be so much stronger. I had no access to the sea, as Professor Beebsen had wished. To get myself one would be tough. Wallachia had no access and Moldavia having some beaches though had no Harbour. Then there was Ragusa, Albania eventually but then I would have to cross Wallachia AND Serbia. With the first ones I had very good relations and could easily ask for permission to pass, but with the second I would have to be in War. Hum, there was only one choice then : DOW the Turks. I had an alliance with Hungary, Luxembourg and Bohemia.

I went to bed but couldn’t fall asleep easily. I was too impatient to test that Ottoman Empire and see where it would bring us. I decided to meet Professor Beebsen the very next day, there was no point to delay it further more.
Professor Beebsen was drinking a coffee at Academy Cafeteria, as a short look on his schedule in the Teachers Room told me he had a lecture only by 10. He said :
«_here you are. I’m not surprised to see you so early. In fact I was waiting for you. Shall we ?_» and he showed me the way to his classroom. «_there we will have more silence_».

My report went fast and Professor Beebsen just said «_ Basic colours only basic colours, this green here is so beautiful and this magnificent purple ..._, but well, never mind, it‘s your painting»

I went home and switched the computer on. Something told me that I wouldn’t go early to bed this night.
I made a first «_esquisse_» to see the «_immensetude_» of the work to come.

PICASSO 1419-1461

Picasso would go against the Ottomans. He would go bankrupt for sure as well.
To see Austria also in white bothered me a while but then I decided to focus more south and east. A tax collector was appointed then I had a look on investment program. In 1425 I would get Technology level 2 for my armies. That would be the date I DOW the Turks. My first diplomat would go to see if Wallachia accepts my Armies to go through their Country, and they did. After that, I passed my time by arranging diplomatic affairs. Picasso would be dating the beautiful princesses of Europe ;
Castile, Würzburg, Palatinate, Hessen, Mecklenburg, Oldenburg, Friesland, Gueldre, Münster, Hanover, Bayern, Baden, Poland, Lithuania, Wuertemberg and Sienna. When the War came but Picasso would still be dating to prevent us from Back attacks.
In March 1425, we reached that famous level 2. The relations between the Turks and Byzantium were really bad and war should follow soon. As this happened (in July the very same year) we DOWed and refused any help from our allies ( Croatia joined the alliance by that time). As Ottomans Armies couldn’t reach us we were safe to build our army while the stability came rapidly back. We take 3 loans and conscripted cavalry and hire some folks to help us. Turks troops marched into Byzantium, we would attack them in their back.
Our Army marched south while we took another 2 loans to build a second Army to make a good logistic chain.

1004.jpg

Our first Army marched trough Bulgaria and arrived in Macedonia on December the 1st . The next Year our second Army began the siege of Bulgaria. Unfortunately Turks attacked them and we had to flee. A second battle was won in Macedonia ! Glory. The Province fall in June 1426. For some unknown reason Austria who had become our new member of the alliance declared war against Mantua. Athens happened to be allied to Mantua. This great occasion we seized.

On April the 1st (it isn’t a joke) we are bankrupt. Our stability grew rapidly back, like the first time. During that time our Armies tried to capture Bulgaria. The Turks had left and our first Army could march in. In May the Province was ours, as our second Army left back began a new siege in Rumelia. Byzantium seemed to decline as we saw many more Turks trying to find our Battlefield. We lost some but won also some decisive ones as we joined our both armies into One. As Rumelia fall we split them again. The first and small detachment went north to take the last Turkish province on the European continent while our second marched south to meet the Greeks. Apparently the 15k Greek Army we saw had some other Business to do (a war against Venice) and we could march with no tough resistance into Athens. The Province fall in April 1428 after a six month siege.

What now ? Well we definitely had to annex those Greeks and so we sent Picassos wife to make the arrangements. Our first conquest !

The Turks however wouldn’t abandon the 4 Provinces we had taken, all our diplomats were returned in two small luggage, one containing the Head and the second one the body. By the end we had a lot of trouble finding new diplomats. There was only one solution, DOW Byzantium. In 1430 we managed to take over Morea. We had become rather impatient because of those rebels coming up in all those provinces. The Bulgarian seemed the toughest ones. In 1431 only we managed to walk into Thrace, our Armies were kept under continuous attacks (desperate ones) launched from Ottoman Marine Troops. Byzantium was rapidly taken as the inhabitants were probably sick of sieges. Now we had almost a foot in Asia. It took also quite a while to make Byzantium accept our Peace conditions. Morea to us, vassalization and free passage trough their Country. But finally they did.

All the little money we had (but still, our CoT flourished) was sent to the conscription centre. Our Army didn’t grow that much but didn’t diminish neither. We had still many rebels to fight, and even if we took Anatolia ( Nov. 1431) they kept on refusing our conditions. We had to take other loans and went bankrupt in November 1432. In 1433, Hungarians had the good idea to DOW Serbia who was allied with Moldavia and Wallachia. We had the Turkish front, the moving rebel front and between our Capital and those the Wallachians.

They weren’t aggressive. Our fighting rebel Army gave up the rebels for a while and marched North. Unfortunately, the Austrians were the first to arrive, and after a rapid conquest, vassalized them. So life continued for a while. Our troops had to march through all Turkish provinces and wait until they accept our conditions.
In 1439 only, we could annex Dobrudja, Rumelia, Bulgaria and Macedonia.

In 1440, Moldavia was now the cause of the big Balkanian War Part 2. Again, Siebenbürgen, Hungary, Austria and others had to face a DOW from Moldavia, Wallachia (who breaks her Wassalization oups, sorry, her vassalization) and Serbia.

This time we wouldn’t be away from it. In November, the Province was quickly taken and annexed. All our Provinces (8) are touching themselves now. Glory !

We welcomed Diplomats from Serbia and Moldavia and agreed about a white peace immediately.

But Picasso was getting old and tired of wars. He was received like a bad boy in all European provinces. This illustration shows the visas he failed to get. The red parts are ... you know, where Picasso "is the one that shouldn't meet your daughter".

1005.jpg

The rest of his reign was devoted to restore his image. We spent a lot of money in diplomatic affairs and war resolutions to do accordingly so. It was a long period of 21 years. By the end, I decided to buy a yacht for the good man who had painted 7 new provinces with our white colour.

Number of Provinces = 8, gain 7
Total Population in 1461 : 118615 Inhabitants.
Army : 7000 infantry and 10000 cavalry
Army losses : combat inf = 74863 cav = 11528
attrition inf =63408 cav = 16580
Vassals : 1
Number of Bankruptcies = 2
Number of revolts 74
Number of leaders seen ? None, when do they come ????
Number of different countries I’ve been in war with (bastards) = 31

navalunit name = "Morea Flotte" (Picassos Yacht)

This is the final Picture of Picassos Painting attempt, from 1419 to 1461

Go, Picasso! Go, Picasso! *waves flag*

Actually, that reminds me of the Monty Python sketch with Picasso trying to paint while riding a bicycle :D

Anyway, I love what you're doing with the graphics. Absolutely phenomenal. Now go crush the rest of those silly Balkan nations!

Oh, and about the leaders, they probably won't kick in until around 1490, since Spain won't appear before then :( First one is probably El Gran Capitan.

This is very unique. I love it (even if you left Salvador Dali off the list). One thing I thought we would see more is the pressure mounting on our young student. I really want to hear what he thinks about this impromptu project and how he deals with the ball of fear every student feels when a project isn't going his way.

Not saying things haven't gone your way, you've expanded quite nicely. Now just hold it all together.

thank you for encouragements, again ... It helps a lot.

Nootite, euh |abuse of Talisker], sorry, Tonite, I'll be playing Kandinsky. Hmmmm. We'll see what use he will make of the paint brush... Drawing some lines and splashs wont be as expensive as Picassos work. So probably no bankruptcy anymore.:(

By the Way I love the Ponty Mythons, oups Monty Pythons... Caricatures about Frenchies and other Latin types ore wonderful.

I've already an idea for a next AAR ... but ssshhh. Just the keyword : "Stanislas Lem"...............

The Reign of Kandinsky 1461-1483

Kandinsky's plan for his reign was simple. Draw a line here and a circle there. Financially it wasn't that bad, but our relations weren't aswell. So he thought he do could something about restoring his image as a popular painter. Unfortunately, he never came to it.

1008.jpg

First, there were those Moldavian folks that kept on looking what he was painting. Nobody had the right to see one of his unfinished work. It's always a problem when neighbours are too close to your house. So he declared the war in November, an that was about 2 month after his crowning. His friends from Pomerania, Bremen, Mecklenburg and Holstein were invited to join the Party. But due to some strikes they couldn't manage to get there in time. In January we defeated the Moldavian Army and began the siege. In March, the Palace was already ours and we annexed the Country.

Kandinsky could go back to his atelier and begin a new Painting. Then He began to send some invitations for his next exhibition to his other Neighbour, the Hungarian King, who he thought could buy some of his recent work.

Many people in the country weren't invited though, and felt like doing some rioting for their revenge.
Meanwhile his big friend from Pomerania got in trouble with the Polish king and we were sort of obliged to make war to him. This was annoying because there was a marriage between those 2 countries.
The Northern alliance plus Siebenbürgen went to war against Poland, Lithuania, Bohemia and Brandenburg. Many new rioting went over the country. We immediately accepted a white peace with the opponents except Poland. We siege Bujak in 1464 and took the Province only one year after. The stability was were low, as they though Kandinsky is a mad man. But our stability came back, so our struggle against the many rebels became easier.

Albania DOWed us in 1467, that really wasn't the best time. We left the rebels for a while and formed a big army to march south. Poland didn't care much about us and didn't seem to have understood that they had lost a Province... In 1468, we beat an Albanian Army and launch our troops into their Country. But our Army was defeated and had to retreat. It took us quite a while to reconscript a new Army, but we managed to invade Albania again in November 1469. Meanwhile we start to conscript a second Army that would invade Poland.

1010.jpg

The Polish hadn't so huge Armies, but they had many cavalry. What was clear was that we wouldn't have many occasions to beat them. The chance was with us, some noble guy decided to offer us Artillery, a new weapon that was at the experimenting level. In 1471, our population was really sick of wars. The rebellion percentage was around 11%. Police officers were really mad. The same Year the pope decided to DOW us. A new war and new rebels to come.

But in December we annexed Albania and our Army could dispatch to control all our Provinces. In 1471 we took the province Podolia, and the Province Galizien in 1472. Poland made Peace only in 1473. We quickly sent many ducats to all the other Nations we were in war with, and the Rebellion rate went down.

But we also got bad news from the north. Prussia, a great Painter and Kandinsky’s schoolfriend wasn’t anymore. The country was now under Lithuanian Power.

Venice DOWs us in 1475. Kandinsky is sick of wars. He didn’t paint wall at that period. Color tubes were more and more expensive and buyers for his Paintings rare. In 1476 it’s Raguse’s turn to DOW. We brought our artillery down to Albania and defeated the first Ragusian Army. This was a very tough war but we succeeded. Meanwhile we had made peace with Venice again [we paid some money] . In 1477 we lost a batlle in Ragusa and had to start all over again... In 1479 the Country is annexed.
Peace ! we want Peace !

But as you can see on this Painting Kandinsky made, our Country wasn't popular at all.

Kandinsky's final Painting attempt from 1461 to 1483

From 1479 to 1483, Kadinsky could paint again, but his eyes had became so bad because of the wars that he didn’t really saw what he was painting. Those last Paintings however are the most precious ones.

1015.jpg

Number of Provinces = 14, gain 6 by Kandinsky.
Total Population in 1483 : 207776 (+89161) Inhabitants.
Army : 29000 infantry and 13000 cavalry
Total Army losses :
combat inf = 172459 cav = 27657 art 5
attrition inf = 123316 cav = 28671 art = 6
Number of Bankruptcies = still 2 !
Number of revolts 78 (picasso) + 32 (Kandinsky) !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Number of leaders seen ? None, when do they come ????
Number of different countries I’ve been in war with (bastards) = I don’t count them anymore...

Ships : 3 Warships, 7 Transports (Thanks to Ragusa and Albania !)

Have you passed all the year, AFAIK he could appear anywhere in the year.

Else it might be an editing question. Does the spanish leaders appear in your file as well as the monarchs seem to do?

Nice playing by the way :)

I've been spending quite a time trying to figure out why I don't get colombus.
Well I checked my saved file, I could find my MonarchTable but no Leader table. Hmmm. Well I copyed it again in the saved file and run the game. Normally, as there is no month or day, but only the year 1486 He should arrive on January the 1st !
That day passes, the game makes an autosave and no Colombus to be seen. arrrrrrgggggggg

So I check the autosave file and all my LeaderTable was gone again ! arrgggg. ( but the spanish, yes he had his Colombus ... cheater !)

So I thought my leader ID were wrong (I just had put a "1" before all spanish ID (it had worked with the monarch file)
So I put an other "1" just in case.
Result ? the same, no Colombus to be seen.

Then I thought the probably trys to read the Leader file. (I've created the file since it didn't existed.) But all other files are marke ENG File or HUN File ore whatever excpet mine who is "TXT"............

So I download the Leader Generator ...........

no results yet.

I want my Colombus :( :(
