When will they add more to this forum, such as a mod section, AAR section, etc, it'd help people organizing mods and some people might want to get a head start on AAR's and such, do background stories and stuff like that before they get to the game itself!

While I agree that they'll likely do so when the game releases, I think he was asking because of the possibility of getting stuff together before may 9th.

It would be useful to have a week in advance to set it up so one can start the initial AAR game on release.

Totally agreed! The subforums could be opened up a week before release or such.

I've already managed to write some chapters of indroduction... Hope i'll get a chance to post these before release

Yeah, a small head start would be great. Even if it's just a large AAR introduction that will stand as little more than fanfiction until a game can be started, it'd be enough. I've got an itch and it needs scratching!

It's not even fanfiction, it's getting to space and defining the Empire and how it get thus far and it's social and military traditions and goals and such.
But yes, know about the itch.

You could do AAR-preps offline, Then just Copy-Paste.

But I agree that it would be nice to get subforums up before release. I want to read good (pre)AARs, and I know there are some great writers on the forum.

Most AARs tend to be DARs (During Action Report) or CARs (Current Action Report). I plan on starting mine before launch then updating it periodically. It won't really be an AAR until the game is done, but it'll be updated long before then

yeah that's exactly why I was asking, opening it early, even a bit, would really help with organization when it finally comes out, instead of everyone scrambling right when it's out and all. plus I would love to see the things people come up with in preparation! I already have done a few things myself actually, hosted on NationStates right now.

Were there requests to open the AAR forum before EU4?

I understand if they have a policy to wait until release day with opening extra forums, but there are even about 10 MP discussions planning campaigns, too, and they can be hard for players to find.

In ye goode olde days, there was an AAR forum way before the launch and there were good little things called Beta AAR-s. Now, these are replaced by Blorg. Unfortinately.

Anyway, do we have an absolute statement from staff that they won't consider opening multiplayer and AAR sub forums a week or so in advance to help people organise for launch?
