As long as it has been updated within that timeframe, it is eligible. It doesnt have to be started on that time date. So Heirs is eliqible. As long as I understand it.

Nope. New AAR, started in the last quarter to be eligible. Or else we might end up with one AAR dominating for quarters on end when the purpose of the category is to highlight an up-and-coming AAR.

I haven't voted this time. Because of many things, not the least moving to a new house, I've barely been able to visit the forums and have read a grand total of two AAR updates in the last two months or so.
Apologies, but any vote I made would simply have been a "Q2 redux" vote, so I've abstained this time around.

And the votes are tallied. That took 90 minutes, and that's just the tally. No thorough check has been done on all the AARs, though the winners have been determined. And none of the dressed up formatting to prepare it for the archive has happened. I expect that to take far longer than the actual tally, but at least I have a few more days to do that.
Now I would like to share a few thoughts:
First of all, vote only once. There have been only two instances this time of people not having their vote contained entirely in one post, but that's two too many. If I didn't keep a list of everyone that voted as I tallied, some unfair voting might have happened. Of course, I still had to do the double-take and checking and correcting, adding to my work.
Second of all, vote in order. What I like best is when people copy the whole voting template and then fill it in, even if they don't even get close to filling in the whole thing. The spaces are there for a reason, and prevent me from having to do a double-take to confirm that you skipped over the Favorite Overall category and such. Worst of all is voting out of order, because then I have to scroll the Notepad up and down and up and down hunting down the categories and I hate that.
Thirdly, vote in the right categories. Just how is The Cobras Are Smoking a Narrative? Or In memory of France a Comedy? (Though I left that in because Comedy is quite subjective...) Of course, you lot have been improving every quarter, and this time we had a minimum of category confusion. In general, you guys did a pretty good job.
Fourthly, and the most important of all, CHECK IF THE AARS YOU ARE VOTING FOR ARE ELIGIBLE. I cannot stress this enough. It's very nice that some people write their votes exactly how they are archived, with the full title, the author, and a link. Because that way I can get the information without searching for it and put it directly in. Unfortunately I cannot do this because thanks to some people always voting for non-eligible AARs EVERY SINGLE TIME my SOP has become to tally the votes, then laboriously review every AAR voted for to see if they are eligible, as well as taking down the full title and url. This is a colossal waste of time, and worse for the New Writer category, in which people not only sometimes don't actually put an AAR title, but 3/4ths of the time vote for an ineligible AAR.
And so, ideally, each vote should be in the exact format as in the first post, except better, because instead of linking the AAR in the title you'll put the thing in code so that I don't have to type in the url code and the url when tallying. Though if you vote for an AAR after the first person you don't do this. Of course, the world isn't ideal, so I really don't expect this. But I at least expect people to vote in the correct order, actually put down the AAR's title and author, and above all else, only vote for AARs that are eligible. In fact, if this voting-for-ineligible-AARs-things continues, I'll have to implement some harsh measures, and I don't want that. You wouldn't want it either.
And only 2 people PMed me votes. It's a viable option, guys.

By the way, in the future I could use some assistants. Perhaps more like apprentices, who will not only be able to assist me in the tally but also continue on this institution properly if I am not able to do so. The only requirement is that you have to help with the tallying every three months.

The way I dealt with that, by the way, the last time I tallied is to keep a list of who voted for each AAR/category so I could tell if there was a duplicate vote. I also used the "edited on" notations at the bottom of the post to see if anyone had changed their votes since I last looked.
