AARs of the type that Lord Durham writes for instance....

AAR Jukebox

Hello, I just got EU2 and I want to start AARing again. Thing is, I can't really get decided on what AAR start first, so I'm asking you what country or style of AAR would you like to see.

Your AARing servant,

So you finally got it, eh? :)

If you want to try a country that hasn't had much airplay, then take a look in the 'AARland, AARtiFAQs, OscAARs and the LibrAARy - for Newcomers & Veterans' thread, stickied near the top, to see what's popular and what's not.

Hungary, the Iberian Peninsula, Venice and various Germanic states seem to be all the rage at the moment, if that's any help.

As for style, whatever you're comfortable with. The style you used on the EU I board worked quite well.

One small suggestion, stay away from a 'conquer the world' AAR. It's being done to death lately.

I look forward to reading whatever you decide on. :)

Dratz, I just got a nice idea but it would be for a Crusader Kings AAR, I fear, as the EU2 timespan wouldn't fit. Unless there is a more or less completed Crusades scenario, which I think is not (I don't recall seeing it at the depot).

Bizantine's done to death, I suppose. Exotic countries I'm not familiar with them... *rumble, rumble*

Will wait and see some more suggestions. :)

I probably missed them then, i dont recall byzantium being done to death... maybe initially but certainly for no time since. I played a thoroughly enjoyable byzantine game recently and wished i had documented my actions.

Alot of the indo-chinese nations are being done atm thx to ariel ;) but to be honest i love seeing new spins on well explored countries. Remember ariel's "different england" or his approach to genoa. I would say set a goal, perhaps a radical one, a try that. The gluttonic knights was an excellent example of breathing fresh air into a reasonably well explored nation by simply having some fun with it.

The problem with care2 right now is that they now block direct-link viewing so you can't imbed an image straight into the post any more (3 or 4 months ago you could do that, but I guess they got tired of it and now make you visit the site). What you have to do in order to see the pirture is right click on the "Oops" and select "properties". Copy the url in the properties box, paste it into your browser's address line and go to the piture. When you later return to the AAR, the picture will now show for as long as your browser stores pages in memory ("history" in the internet settings boxes)...then it will revert back to an "Oops" again. It's a bit annoying, but in a survey we did, most people will go to the effort to view them that way.

Might I suggest a modest goal for Byzantium? I've been dying to try to wipe out Islam using Byzantium, but haven't had the time. I came tantalizingly close with Spain a while ago, but had to give up ... annexing all the Muslim provinces in the world sent my BB skyrocketing, so I ended up trying to convert while wasting money on BB wars. But I remembered thinking that it might've been a lot easier with all those CB-shields that Byzantium gets. Of course, Byzantium doesn't get those anti-Muslim "bonus" CB's that Spain does ...

I think south-east Asia is just screaming for some attention.

China gets some airtime, Manchu and Japan as well.

But you almost never see AARs based on a country that has to be scared of his neighbors.

I'd like to see two things in a new AAR: A small country (preferably SE Asian) that DOESN'T try to expand excessively.

Get yourself to 5 or 8 provinces and then NEVER take another province. You can force vassalize, etc. But never expand again.

Be the power broker in your area.

Imagine the resources of Cambodia with China and Nippon as vassals.

I just finished a nice game with the Bizants that will use for the AAR. I tried to give the gameplay a weird spin, and I think that it has worked to some extent.

About the hordes, I'd certainly do it, but GH is just too powerful in 1419 to be fun.

Thats really annoying. Do you know any other provider or possibility to show the pictures. Filesize of my every single picture is roughly 90k.
As long i cant solve the problem with the pictures i cant finish my AAR
Cheers

Hi cou;ld you tell me what website hosts allow you to link images off them. I know all of the lycos webhosting sites replace your graphic with a "This is hosted on Angelfire/Geocities", does anyone know a (free!) hosting service?

Also If anyone needed such a device (I cant be expected to look through thousands and thousands of topics he he) Ive been using a program called Grabby on Ultima Online, you run the program and you can set it to take screen shots at different time periods or you can take countless screen shots by just pressing the "print screen" button, without overwriting the last image. They are stored in the temp folder and named temp1 etc etc. If anybody wants this I can send you it :)

Also one last query to the mods, may I ask why email notification doesnt work?
