Hey, everybody. Need some help with an AAR I'll be doing for later in the Summer.

It'ls going to be an AAR on the Mayan kingdom of Central America (who I think have an awesome four-color flag). The thing I'm having problems on is the name of the AAR. Here are the names that I've thought about using:

Coffee, Inc. (Based on the fact that the Mayans usually produce the most Coffee in the world through nearly the whole game)

A Priestess You Don't Want to Piss Off (Based on the main character I'm planning for the AAR, whom will be an extremely femme fatale)

Patriotic America - The Red, White, Blue, and...Yellow? (Based on the flag of course)

Stranded - The accounts of a Chinese man in Central America (Thinking of using a story plot where Zheng He passes by, lands on the coast of the Yucatan peninsula, then accidentally leaves a man behind) :D

What should I do?

Interesting nation to choose. :)

I like these three titles/ideas the best...:)

Coffee, Inc.

A Priestess You Don't Want to Piss Off

Stranded - The accounts of a Chinese man in Central America

Looking forward to your AAR...;)

What should I do?

I think I watched a story on the History Channel one time about Chinese (not the famous Zheng) getting stranded in Central America. They trace possible cultural artifacts to show it happened. Was interesting.

How about you make it a reality:D

Either of those three would work very well. It just depends on your writing style.

I think the Priestess and Coffee Inc. would work well as humorous AAR's.

The stranded Chinese man would work as a serious or comical AAR.

Personally, the intro post for the AAR is what either catches or loses my interest. No pressure.:D

If it was me writing this AAR though...I would choose the Chinese angle since that has more flexibility. Writing about a femme fatale (although fun at first) might get a little hard to keep putting out good and creative posts (for 400 years). Juxtaposition is the first AAR I have contributed to...and...although fun...I sometimes find myself wishing that I had left room for a little more flexibility. Only having one main character (with a limited personality) and using first person gets a little old sometimes when you aren't "in the mood" to write in that style. Of course our round robin play sort of forces you to post even if you aren't ready...since the next author's installment will be hot on your heels...:)

Hey, that was a lot of rambling...:)...sorry...just thinking out "loud"?...;)

Bottom Line: Coffee or the Chinese..or...a combination of those two ideas is my number one choice.:)

Ah, you misunderstand. All of these concepts described in the AAR names will be implemented (except for Patriotic America, depending). I just wanna know what would be a catchy, humorous, or appropriate (perhaps two or all three) title.

Feel free to disregard this patently self-interested opinion. :)

But I'm semi-planning an AAR this summer entitled "Aden Incorporated: or, Making the World Safe for Mocha", in which a corporate syndicate travels back in time to take over Aden and control the entire world's supplies of coffee and tobacco...

...good lord, that's a horrible idea when I look at it.

In any event I would hate to compete with you for the coffee-titled-AAR market. :)

*smacks forehead* Ah, I see now says the blind man.:D

and to think I put myself through all those mental gymnastics...;)

Might I propose....

Coffee, Inc. - The accounts of a Chinese man stranded in Central America

That would definitely catch my interest and get me to look at your AAR...;)

I am looking forward to this...shoot...I was looking forward to it when I thought it was only one of the four ideas being published...but now...it's all four....you mean we get the whole package?....when do tickets go on sale?...sign me up...:)

Sorry- I got carried away with my brainstorming. I like the angle of the stranded Chinese explorer- will he be describing the unbelievable torments of being stuck on a ship with Zheng He while it slowly crossed the entire world without disembarking once for a decade? :D :D :D

Carligula - LOL! It ain't horrible as long as it's done with style -- that's how I think of it anyway. About Aden -- you'll have fun with them. With that super-army it would be all too easy to take down either the Hedjaz or Oman.

Lionheart - Laughable name.

Prufrock - Oh God, man, you just gave me an idea to play around with on the Pizza thing. Also, with the aliens thingie, you just gave me a reason for them being able to speak English! Woohoo. :D

For the Chinese explorer guy, I'll love to describe that -- oh the horrors of living with 99 attrition for five or six years. Mwehehehe.

Faeelin - There are four colors on the Mayan flag: Red, White, Blue, Yellow. Or Gold. Dunno. Look at my avatar. You should get the joke. As for the coffee, it'll be like alcohol is for modern-day civilization. :D

Preliminary LibrAARy listing - please check for errors/ommissions

Okay. I'm almost ready to get the first comprehensive AAR LibrAARy catagolue finalised and put into the sticky at the top. Only a week later than I thought it would be...not bad considering the flurry of new AARs recently. :)

As a last check, please see if I've missed or mis-represented anything you've written.

There will be two post following this one, sorted by author for your convenience. Please check:

(1) did I spell your name correctly?

(2) did I correctly identify the country you played?

(3) did I correctly identify the "start date" (in brackets) of the game?

(4) did I miss an AAR you've written?

(5) is the link to your AAR (AARs) working?

If there are no errors, no need to post. If I screwed up somewhere or missed something, please post the error below and I'll fix it.

Please note that there were some 500 or so threads that I had to look through to compile this and I was a little selective by excluding aborted AARs that are more than a few months old, so if you started an AAR in April or earlier and only posted a couple of instalments then it probably won't be listed. Also if you've just started an AAR it *might* not be listed (although I *think* I got everything updated as of noon EST today) so you can point me to any I've missed.

For AARs where there are more than one or two active posters (e.g. RPG's) you will find these listed under author "Collaborative" or "Multiplayer" (depending on the AAR type) with the thread-starter listed in brackets. If there is a corresponding "OOC" thread or supporting thread, it won't be included in the listing as most/all of those AARs have an internal link pointing to their corresponding thread.

I'll leave this up for a couple days and then we'll get these instaled in the sticky, but sorted by region/country instead.

Here we go:
