Aaannnddd It's crashing at the end of the month again.....

Hello old friend!



First it won't create a save, so I spend 3 hours fixing that, settling down to finally play the game, and now the game crashes at the end of the month...

are you editing any files?. if the game has to do math with super big multipliers, it's gonna break. my particular experience being increased cultural and religious assimilation modifiers. hope that helps.

No, i'm not editing anything. The game crashes every Dec 31st, even If I turn off auto saves. It's unplayable for me once again.

Have you tried restarting your pc? Validate your files? Reinstalled the game?

We've been seeing this crop up for some people using antivirus software - in a lot of cases, the issue clears up once the I:R exe is whitelisted or added to permissions.

Done all that, still crashes.

Aha. If you haven't already, it would be useful if you could create a post in the bug reports forum with attached logs - we can take a look tomorrow

How actually did you 'fix' not creating a save? And what was with that?

Also is everything on your PC up to date, Windows up to date, and is PC itself configured good?

Back in the time Imperator released, I bought it but refunded it because I didn't really like it at the time. I had an issue though.
It was similar in nature, saving games would sometimes crash the game and while my game did not crash on 31st december ( or maybe sometimes it did, I haven't payed attention ) it did crash whenever something 'big' was happening. Game ran perfectly though since I had a nice rig, or I thought so. And it was not a regular Paradox crash, but rather froze my whole PC

What this game did it pinpointed to me that my motherboard was bad. Was it the ram slots, was it something else, I do not know. I know I tried everything basically, even reinstalling Windows several times, and game still crashed.
Only thing that helped me was a new mobo, and everything was fine after that
