A response to one of the ideas on your list:
I think you've got your idea on the American Revolution backwards. pro-independece sentiment ran deeper in the North than the South, most of the Southern war effort was kept up by partisans for the majority of the war. New England should be separate, while the South stays British.

Maybe the decabrist revolution in Russia could be a success, the lack of stability in the country would allow Sweden to secure Finland. There could aldo be some Polish rebirth event, where Poland is reborn out of Cracow, this could be also due the success of the decabrist revolution. I also was working on a set of events for Texas (if he would stay independent),in which he could sign an "liberation pact" with the US, that would mean that the states do not pretend on TEX territories and vice versa. This pact would also guarantee military aid for TEX in case it would try to secure Mexico. But in this version Texas could try to secure Spanish territories in North America. If the confederacy and Texas do exist, the abolishment of slavery in TEX could lead into an second war between USA and CSA. For the Ottoman there could be a set of events "Rebirth of the Arabic halifat", and, when it would be reborn, the halifat could pretend on Iberia (Spain). About the events with mongols invading Japan and the Japanese would assimilate them, perhaps, the Japanese colonisation of Syberia, then? More than that: A part of America could belong to Japan (one of my craziest fantasies was that Japan with China, Korea and Manchuria would form Oceania :) ). Could also add Indian revolt with Japan supporting the rebels.

How about if the rebellion of Li Zicheng had succeeded resulting in the Shun Dynasty replacing the Ming rather than the Qing. The Manchu border would remain north of the Great Wall and the new dynasty (one with greater support from it's populace than the Qing) would result in a more capable China able to better exercise it's authority. We might not have the historical situation in Victorias timeframe where they were inviting European intervention in the desperation to retain their rule (such as during the Taipeng Rebellion). If in this timeline Japan has not followed a policy of isolation in the 1600s then they may use this opportunity to invade an unsupported Korea.
