Just put an end to my Brandenburg game and started checking out the other nations that may be interesting. Sibir was at the top of the list because of all the ravings I here about it in this forum. But with cav units costing something like only 8 ducats apiece and inf units a ducat a dozen:)how hard could playing Sibir be:)? I guess if I want a quick 20 minute game I'd play them:), but I wanted something more......stimulating....ahhh...you know....something that would present a bit of a struggle. On the serious side Sibir does have a harsh climate.

Sibir is by no means an easy country to play. Their tech development is very poor and those cavalry will soon lost their initial game advantage. Without infantry, you can't siege effecively.

lol Papal States are EXTREMELY poor and the risk f the Spanish always hangs above your head. Not a good nation IMO.

Never played Sibir. I preferred conquering it...

I like playing Papal States and giving myself some invincible leaders like "The Holy Ghost" 24/9/9/9 or creating some of the saints and turning them into super Napoleon's. :) Its always nice to have Ghost run over level 6 fortresses in 2 months. :D

The thread was a humorous one intend for Morpheus. I guess he's not present otherwise I'm sure the title, one with the nation Sibir in it, would have baited him to make an appearance.

and to keep the humor going..........

Yes! Sibir is an easy nation to play. Why just take out a 200 Ducat loan and you can buy an army the size of China's.

lol if Morpheus was here he'd be loving this one. Actually thinking about it, shouldn't his ban just about be lifted by now?

Maybe I should play Sibir sometime...

Sibir is absolutely not a very easy nation to play.

For one, tech dev. is really slow, and troops stop being that cheap early on. Also, cavalry are fairly worthless against your main enemies: Persia, Poland, and Russia, as they have strong forts.

Flaws with the loan strategy:
1. You have to pay it back, which is hard as the Siberian provinces are dirt (or is it snow) poor.
2. Attrition. With an army the size of China's, the supply limits will fail you and winter will leave all that money is dead in the snow.
The only way to beat those is conquest, which is only limited to the Khanates as anything else can beat the crap outta you.

Conclusion: Sibir isn't a walk in the park.

Ahhh, its about time you posted in this thread, Morpheus...what took you so long? I guess developing nukes in 1560 with Sibir proved to be a far greater challenge than you thought :)

A very serious reply Morpheus! Totally unexpected. and I have no response......oh yes I do. I was pulling your leg, joking, making with the ha ha, but I see you can be serious and by your stratagem you are quite the general. I bow to you sir. :)
