Where are the women in EU:Rome? I am playing Macedonia from the start date, and my ruler has one son and two daughters. The son is now in his 40s, and finally married... to his niece (daughter of his sister). None of the sons of the daughters (who both married as soon as they got a portrait) are married either.

My court is continually low on characters, and any new character that appears is always male. The only time I saw women pop-up is when my ruler needed to be married.

I dare say there's a variable somewhere that dictates the chances of a new character being a woman. Find it, and mod it.

I think you are just unlucky.

As Macedonia I had my first king married 3 times after his first 2 wives each died after several years of marriage to him. Each of the 3 provided a couple of kids.

One of the sons of the king took the throne when the king died. About one month into his new role, the new king got married and soon had 2 daughters.

I think the "work with what you got" character system fits in well with the rest of the game. It would be a bit tiresome trying to micromanage everyone's love-lives to create a Kwisatz Haderach in the way that happens in Crusader Kings.

I have noticed a number of women and used them as governors and researchers. The women who become available tend to be very good!

@Wdll: my king is currently 80+ years old with no sign of dying soon -- by the time his son finally will inherit, he'll be deep in his 50s or beyond. Which gives little time to get an heir (no children with his niece yet). I know he will (re)marry if necessary on becoming king, but he really should have married 30 years ago. That way the succession would have been secure.

They are waiting for a talented modder with a knack for understanding how characters work from future crusades to take them from his magical hat...

... since we are at it, let me ask you to create them with a nice bosom and generous curves (ok, do not make them overweight!) ;)

... C'mon, delve into modding Rome! ;)

I don't doubt that, but things like this happen in real life too. It's ok, the game doesn't end if there is no heir :p

I am glad that the game doesn't have as a complex system in dynasties as CK.

I have noticed though I can't make women governors stay in place for more than a couple of days.

I am amazed that after 75 years of game play I have a nice heap of women in my court. The problem is, they are stem back to my first king. I am assuming that the DNA in the game mixes out.

Personally, I do miss marrying away out of the country.
