I like the development of the map. However, I think the soldiers are a tad too large (ie. spontaneously I think they should be decreased in size by a factor of 2/3 or 1/2). (If it's possible to zoom out they should perhaps be scaled up accordingly to be visible.)
Also which was commented, the unparallel messages are confusing and takes longer time to read. The following would be better:
