I understand that my nation gets paid at the first of every month. I don't need the audio cue. When I'm running the game at 4 or 5 speed, the sound gets really irritating really quickly.

Is there any way to disable it without removing all other gameplay sounds?

Yes. Go to the folder where the sound is kept, and overwrite the WAV file. (easiest way).

The sounds are kept in Steam/steamamps/common/EU4Demo(or somthing)/sounds.

the file will likely be called "Cash" or monthly income". They're quite clearly labeled.
