Playing as the USA, having to continuously adjust your imports is incredibly tedious. I even switched to export focus just to have more resources and be less spammed by these notifications.

I understand that there is a strategy behind trade (the number of civs you're willing to trade, trade with subject countries, the route used by the convoys etc..) but I believe some level of automation could be implemented to alleviate the nuisance. Like, automatically import more from a country you're already trading with, under a limit of civ cost.

It would be a great feature and reduce a lot of tedious clicking and notifications (and time spent pausing the game in SP), especially when you have to add trades every few days because you're building so many military factories. It would need some options however, like:

1) An option for a list of "approved" countries to trade with.
OR
2) An option to trade with anyone possible.

3) An option to disable trading by sea using convoys and only trade over land.

4) An option to disable trading for less than an 8:1 ratio of resources per civilian factory.

To be honest, I think the "historical" route would be to go for an Italian-style build. No carriers, but plenty of BBs and using NAVs/TACs and fighters from land to support the fleet.

If the goal is just to defeat the RN, you will do so in waters near Europe where you have airfields to support the fleet. Britain must defend her home waters, so it's not like you need to project naval power to Canada or something.

Let Goering get his beak wet a little and use land based air power to support the KM. It will save the research on carriers. It's what he would want historically anyway. :)
