A very important naming suggestion for the air designer in BBA.

One thing I dislike a lot in the ship designer is the need to manually name ship class name without any name list. So if you want to create a historical ship class for certain nation you ought to do a bit of some online research. Whereas the tank designer does a much better job in providing the closest tank name upon creation. For example, if you build a heavy tank 2 with Germany it would be named Tiger I, etc.
Now for the upcoming air designer please follow the tank designer pattern by providing the airplane name initially. That would makes life a lot easier for us. Thank you!

Like looking up selected namelist, and, in worst case, queueing ship up to get the next free name? Ship classes were always named after the first ship built (unless you really want to roleplay, say, Soviets who used project name instead or something like that).

The ship designer should probably take the first name not currently in use or production in the chosen name list, strip the prefix if relevant (HMS/USS/SMS/RN/whatever), and make that the class name.

So suppose you're the United States and you've built a lot of battleships and you start making a 1944 battleship. The next name in the list after the ships currently under construction is USS Vermont. You select the "National Battleships" name list and it reads that USS Vermont is the next untaken name, strips out the "USS ", and automatically names the class the Vermont Class.

Side note: Prefixes should probably be stored separately from the name lists and concatenated when a ship is made. This would allow generic name lists to more easily combine themselves with prefixes, as well as allowing easier swaps of prefixes when changing ideologies. Like if you go communist as Britain, your prefix changes from HMS to WLNS, but your existing ships are all still HMS. Similarly, if you bring back the Kaiser as Germany, you restore the SMS prefix, but all existing ships remain un-prefixed (as is correct for the Reichsmarine and Kriegsmarine).
